I bought the same kit because I wanted to use another 36 volt lithium battery off an E Bike that failed !!! The battery strips had rusted so I welded new strips on a few of the cells. I've fitted a battery over current and discharge safety device. I don't want to have a complete system that if anything fails that the whole lot is useless !!! This is a lot less complicated and without loads of sensors etc. My old E bike had a front hub motor and loads of electronic rubbish on it !!! So I like this Kit, and I've bought another kit with a twistgrip for another bike !!! The thing I don't want is to pay hundreds of pounds for a specialist battery or else find they don't make it any more like my E Bike !!! So I did not want a New Bike !!! Also an old bike is less likely to be stolen than a brand new one with fat tyres, suspension and disc brakes !!!!

Usually, these kits are a mess with wires hanging all over the frame. But you actually did a nice job 👍

My 20 inch mongoose BMX has a left hand freewheel mount. I guess the chain can go around that instead of messing with the spokes. I suppose there isn't much need for a kit really except for mounting the motor. I like the idea of using those 2 frame tubes for support. The thing sticking out to the side doesn't bother me. Thanks for all the different camera views.

what about the power consumption of this brush motor, is it wasteful to consume power from the battery. and also how is the durability of this dynamo motor, is it durable and does it get hot easily? Is the dynamo winding flammable / burnt?

Answered a bunch of my questions, thanks. So I thought I had decided on The hub motor because the mid drive was expensive and complicated. And then this popped up as I was searching for a hub motor. Chain drive. Once I saw the universal adapter as a welder I knew this was what I was looking for.

Does the throttle response give you variable speeds , meaning the speed increases or decreases depending on how much you push or pull the throttle lever?
