Hello Joy. I really like your videos. This is the first time I make a comment (actually 3): - You spoke "Guerlain" correctly the first time. All the others were wrong. - Guerlain is actually more successful as a make-up and cosmetics producer than as a perfumist. Actually for me Guerlain is the currently best perfumist (niche and designer together). L'Instant EDT is just one of the best fragrances in the market. All the flankers are great but I really think that the EDT is the best one. Same comments for Habit Rouge... it's an astonishing fragrance as well (all the flankers) - You could not be more right: It's fantastic, unique, and classy... so classy! Keep the stream going and keep smelling fine!
Mon cher Cruz, How wrong you are! Guerlain was first known for its perfumes way back and has had several great success stories going back to the 19th Century with its Eau Imperiale. Vol de Nuit was created in 1933 after the book from St Exupery who was a n aviator (The Little Prince), then there was another hit with Mitsouko in the early sixties and the famous Habit Rouge for men in the sixties also that some men still use today. I used the world known Shalimar in the early 70s (that was before your time). The cosmetic side of the business came much later. I use in my panoply of scents Mon Guerlain today after the Robe Noire a few years ago. Guerlain is considered very high class in France. Everybody has had a Chanel or a Dior. Guerlain remains foremost a Parfumeur in the French culture. But in cosmetology it had one fabulous world hit with the first sun-kissed compact face powder for women : Terra Cotta in 1984.
This is an absolute class act, i prefer this over the edp. It has an amazing dual character for summers as well as winters. Smells like nothing else over there!
I totally agree. 👍🏻 I too prefer the EDT version (LIDG) over the EDP version (LIDGE). It's both: more refined/equilibrated and more versatile. Yet classy. It's neither too citrusy (fresh) nor too oriental (spicy-harsh) or gourmand (dark and dense), but something in between all three (like in the middle of the triangle), thanks to the right mix of citrus, anise, wood, cocoa/chocolate, etc, making it just perfect for all year-round use.
Hello Joy I'm sending you life and love from USA. I love your channel. You're passionate about your fragrance reviews and I feel as though you are the most humble reviewer in RU-vid. Keep up the good work Your loyal compadre Corey E.
I just found a vintage 2014 bottle. I am loving it, I had a "Listerine" rebottled vetsion, but this older version seems more dense than the newer bottle.
I have the original still 3 Quarters of the bottle is left, it still smells amazing as I bought it years ago lol .. 2019.. the Perfume is still dark. I bought it in Canada, I fill like it's a grown man's fragrance.

Hi Joy, I recently purchased a back up bottle of the 4.2 oz vintage edt and the stem looks like your edt bottle. It looks very long and curvy. My other two 2.5 oz vintage edt bottles have more of a straight stem. My 2 edp version bottles also have the straight stem. I wonder why that is. It has me paranoid that I got a fake
@@justnashpa the same one in the video. I have worn this for several months now and discovered it actually performs quite well. It doesn’t project strongly but it does last about eight hours on my skin
Thanks Joy! By the way, you were pronouncing it correctly before: "ger-lahn". And being a French house, the last letter is often dropped off. Check out this video of a french person pronouncing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GXy_mZ7Z3Wk.html
Not even close. It’s a woody, warm and slightly creamy anise with touches of citrus. The edp is all that plus the cocoa note. The edp is heavier and darker.
