L (ZL) or R (ZR) Buttons Not Working Properly on Nintendo Switch? Easy Fixes!

I show you how to fix the L & R buttons (should work for ZR / ZL too) on the Nintendo Switch, switch OLED & Lite too. Maybe you have issues where the L or R button is not working, works sometimes, works when pressing hard, ghosting, button stuck or jammed, etc.

I haven't seen the whole video yet but I just wanted to say I have opened the controller up and nothing even physically interferes with the button. It just doesn't work sometimes

You are the only other person I have found with this problem. The button works fine but when I click it nothing registers on the actual screen, software, or game.

Have you tried mapping the controller? I think that option is right under the one shown in the video (the one to see if they work properly)

Wow... It worked. for now. my R button was only working sometimes. i had to press real hard. i used all the ideas you said cept for dust off. imma give it a while see if it fixes

A few shots of contact cleaner. Click the button a few times. Let it dry, which happens fast. Profit. My son’s R button was totally dead and now feels brand new.

I literally tried all these stuff and it barely worked, I tried this and my R button started working again and it's tapping really fast, you are a life saver (I'm not sure if it's long term either though because I just saw this and tried it)

Please don't blow on electronics. The only thing you're doing is to get moisture in them and risk getting them rusted. Cartridges have a warning for this specifically as well.
