kit arrived all fitted and does come with black cable for earth didn't work straight away but after I fitted the fuse that you pull out , needs to be put in with the new system aswell as the one suplied not shown in video link apart from that top product and well putt together happy boy car starts in the morning now :) cheers luke I have been charging my car over night for 2 years
Thank you for your positive comment, its great to hear you are happy and the black cable probably disconnected in the post, ive solved that now with the new way i package the kit, its great constructive information. im glad you are happy , id suggest getting a battery isolator from the website too so keep your main battery at 100% too when you turn the car off.
Thank you for your comment: The insulation colour change is a possibility although since the wires are cut to length it is very hard to mix them up especially with an instructional video. As for the fuse location ; it uses the audio fuse circuit, the benifit of this over the fuel pump is that it is engaged before the person enters the car as soon as they unlock it with the keyless entry it is also on during starting plus remains on after the person leaves their car for around 5 minutes so it provides full power though the whole use of the car at the time which is why this location was selected.
@@devil2005iscool Thanks Luke for the fuse info. I have a 2003 model so my fuse box is different and doesn't appear to have the same or similar audio fuse..
So essentially this is a split charge system? You can run a fridge off the secondary battery for example as it disconnects from the main starter battery when switched off? Very interested in this as I'm building an overlanding rig using my L322.
Id like to say yes for simplicity but no. The crucial difference is that this secondary battery kit turns on BEFORE the car starts unlike a split charge. Thus helping you start the car while its cranking. Super important. Since it saves you in the event your main battery is flat and you cant start your car. This kit would save you. A split kit wouldnt. Yes i run a fridge and travel kettle off the second battery.
@@PaulMcCabe its the only one in the world for the l322 which turns the battery on BEFORE the car has started so all you accessories and starter get full power of both batteries which is why these kits fly off the shelves :) it gives you peace if mind when boiling kettles or keeping your drinks refrigerated that you wont be draining your battery to a point which cant start your car. They are essential upgrades in my opinion
Thats great to hear that it came today now new the payment gateway is up its much faster getting this out as the money is available to me right away. the new kit isnt installed like the video above instead its installed in a more secure way which teh communiy has figured out over the many battery kits that I've sold there's no problem with installing the battery as the video shows but it is much better if you take the right hand board up from the floor of the boots and there's a hole there which is perfectly sized to slot the battery in and what this does is fully free up your boot space again without the vision of a battery even ever getting in the way anytime you use your car so it is a huge plus that people are pointed this out because that compartment holds the perfectly sized battery an it's securely done so it also passes and mocs As for the screw the screw goes in most packages and is sometimes checked by customs and they don't put it in because it's small and lose it so I would just suggest installing a small 5 millimetre screw all bolts in which case that's what it is A5 millimetre bolt and everything will be better as you can see the quality of the kit that you received is a lot better than the one in the video because a lot of iterations have been made to increase the quality of the product but installing it will be to take the right hand side floorboard up and put it in there so it's secure I don't know why authorities check the packages and lose bits but it's one of my pet peeves so I'm sorry about that output a lot of work into making the quality of the components that much more expensive while keeping the price the same but I don't know why they've seemed to make my life and more the customer's lives hard by taking out pieces but a cable tie will hold it firmly.
There is a new version "version 2" of this kit which comes with a heavy duty relay and larger capacity cables. (the listing remains the same) and everyone will be sent the version 2 kit for no added cost. Ps The baseball bat is a necessary essential for all Range rover owners haha :]
Hi Luke, looks like a neat bit of kit and I’ve just ordered one from you. Good luck with your business. I’ve had my 2011 L322 4.4 for a few weeks and have experienced the. Artery discharge issues common with lack of use. I’ll be looking for a battery with small enough dimensions to mount neatly in the boot floor storage space on the RH side. However, I’ve a couple of questions: a) What’s the lowest AH acceptable would you say for a secondary battery? Obvs looking for the highest AH with the smallest size. Any battery suggestions? B) Can I hook up my battery conditioner to the secondary battery rather than the main battery (I’m thinking ‘belt and braces’ might be a good approach). Thanks!
Thanks for your interest. So the 12v battery can be as big or as small as you like for the most part and within reason. Since the second battery is there to support the main battery at ignition on, cranking and accessories while driving then it does not need to be that large. however, the larger the battery is the more accessories you can run and the less depleted it becomes between starts so there is no wrong or right answer :] you have the flexibility of using any car battery. There will be a new battery oriented product coming out in the next few weeks too completely separate to the battery kit and fulfilled a whole other purpose but that would satisfy you "belt and braces" approach :]
hi. Please can you tell me what size fuse is in the clear fuse holder as the car I bought is fitted with this. I'd like to buy some spare ones to carry. Thanks Seimon
Of course they will be available on the website www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com by tomorrow. you can use the live chat on the website if you wish to purchase it before then.
What gauge is the wiring? It seems thin. Especially if you need to start the car with the second battery. And if the relay is 100amp, doesn't it cause a problem if your battery is 110amp?
No the cable I send is black for negative and red for positive and its a version 2 of the kit I've sent out from the beginning. I just haven't had time to make a new video showing it. When you order, you get the new version 2 kit with thicker cables, bigger relay etc
Yes of course. The battery kit has since been updated but i havent made a new video since the install is exactly the same but the kit is very powerful. 200A compared to 80A so new kits are automatically sent when ordering from the website. The battery will 100% sit in the cavity in the back floor.
I order this kit but never got any info from you on shipping. You have 14 days money back but it have been over 14 days with no response from you regarding my order being shipped.
because i added thicker cables than is shown on the video a much larger relay which handles 200Amps instead of 80. ill be making a new video soon but it just covers the costs of the better components i made the new version with.
hi luke, great video but i am very surprised that you are using red coloured cable for the negative side of the battery instead of black, especially as these are being sold to the public.
Thanks for the comment. the cable actually are black. this kit is the version 1 kit. and ever since the start ive only ever sent out versino 2 kit which is much better and are colour coded cables with a larger relay etc. but i havent had a chance to make a new video but rest assured they are colour coded when people make orders.
where you have placed the battery if you take the carpet panel out and the moulded plastic box underneath the battery will fit in the hole then it wont need to be strapped down and its hidden away
I’m confused why u decided that having the battery just strapped down In the boot was okay.... you can lift up the compartment that you had the battery sat on and have it hidden away under the compartment
Yes this is an old video and the battery kit has changed substantially since then along with the location of the battery. I will be releasing a new video when i get chance showing the updated kit and location along with further information regarding new upgrades for the L322 which im confident everyone will like :]
hi, my could you tell me which fuse you took out ?. I have received my kit off you but my fuse arrangement is different from yours, actually 5 spaces along is empty ! I have a 2011 l322 so unsure as to what it is your working on, but as I say could you tell me what fuse you have removed please. dave
Any fuse which is live when the ignition is on. You can pull each out 1 by one and turn they key to see which one is live at ignition on. Or look at the diagram for the cigarette lighter sockets
Also, if you take a picture of your fuse box and send that as an image via the live chat on luxurylandroverupgrades.com i can tell you which one to use.
This kit has been updated a long time ago. check facebook.com/luxurylandroverupgrades.com for the latest version. i havent made a video on the latest version but it has been all around improved.
I don’t think anyone’s going to connect the blue/ negative onto the positive as u can only get one connection on each terminal at a time the red cable looks tidy and if u look deep into the Range Rover wiring even LR used red for some of the negative behind the dash 😂😂😂🙃😂
Just looked at my relay on my 2nd battery installation. The 2 main live wires (thick red ) are both live without ignition on is my relay sticking in open .or is it because I need to reverse the wires. Smaller red wire live in trailer block when ignition on .
@@paulmonkton1227 thats great it's why they all buy them from www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com/product-page/range-rover-l322-secondary-battery-kit because its a cakewalk to install
@@paulmonkton1227 the trailer connector i speak about is still inside the car next to the fuse box . it has around 10 pins on it. use live chat on the website if you have trouble locating so i can send you a picture of it.
i answered it already in his post . but sessntially you are just looking for an ignition on and igniotion off cable . all kits come with a piece of loose cable in the packaging and this is actually a cable you use as an alterntave fuse location wire so you forget all about the piggy back connector and use this piece of wire instead. the other end just connects to the green wire on the tow bar connnector so it is really convienient because it is just to the right of the fuse box really accessable. so use that cable instead and you wont have a problem . like i said. use the live chat on www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com live chat on the bottom right hand corner of the website to get instant real time help. but at least the above answers our qestions.
Purchased this kit off ebay a few days ago thank you! Whats the biggest battery that can be fitted in the right hand under floor area as I dont want it in show in the boot? Cheers. The cappuccino gift was a nice touch 👌 😊
I do not feel the battery restraint in a ratchet strap is anywhere near sufficient for the job of restraining a fairly heavy battery. That is going to fracture in a heavy collision, and I for one would not want a bloody great diesel battery flying towards me in a high speed collision. Why do you not get a battery of the correct size and put it UNDER the floor level in the spare wheel well? There is enough room to get a full size battery in there.. I have a 100 litre LPG tank in place of the spare wheel and there is still room for a good sized battery under there.
yes that is where most people are now installing their secondary batteries. in the cavity in the boot on the right hand side and the battery kit allows the battery to perfectly sit there which frees up the whole space of the boot again. i have yet to make a new video but with the weather being like it is i have put it off. but yes. under the boot :]
One other thing I would point out is it would be better if you purchased a reel of Black battery cable and used that for the earth( ground ) connections. That way it makes it idiot proof, well almost as there are some Real idiots out there! Stuck on labels saying "ground point" can come off and a red lead will make it very confusing to some.
You also have the battery kit which COMES WITH a battery too .here are the two links Battery kit on its own www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com/product-page/range-rover-l322-secondary-battery-kit and Battery kit WITH a battery www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com/product-page/battery-kit-complete-with-battery i will send two spare fuses along with your order paul if you order today.
Its on www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com There are two listings. One with a battery and one without a battery so it can ship with a correct size battery if you want that convenience
@@johntaylor-dc3gd Thats perfectly fine. Any ignition live fuse will work. i.e live when the key is turned to the second position and off when it is turned to the first position. It is easy to find and support is always available via the live chat on www.luxurylandroverupgrades.com if you ever get stuck. It has been installed successfully on your model of vehicle though :]
Thanks Luke. What happens if customer inquiries (quality, correspondence etc.) are not handled properly. Genuine feedback is essential to protect public. Ebay provides full protection to Buyers and Sellers alike, so why not sell your products specially this one (I am very interested) back on eBay. I am sure other buyers would be very happy. If costs are an issue, I am happy to pay even more but at least we have both full online product guarantee.
we will start an ebay store this upcoming month but we are moving premises with a whole new range of lab equipment which needs to be installed first then we can expand on ebay but all customer feedback and enquiries are handles on the website for now
