So the final piece swings in through my upper back, piercing my lungs, and ripping through the healthy vertebrae just to act as a pin to hood the screws together? I don’t know, Doc.
Hi, what’s the difference between an orthopedic surgeon and Neurologist surgeon for this type of surgery? I need to do one and I talked to a neurologist friend and he recommended it was better to do it with a neurosurgeon
My mom just had this surgery, before she was suffering so bad couldn't walk, sleep sit without sudden pains, but after the surgery she's without pain. Hope she gets well and you too
I'm not sure what was done to me, yesterday. Im reworked from my last/bottom disc to my rib cage. Something about a cage(s), rods, pins, screws. I had 2 blown discs (one) on one side, the one under that one blown on the other side, and the ones under those 2 were bone on bone. I woke up in ALOTTA pain yesterday but I'm home, today. I don't think I should have been released without my bowels still not moving, yet. But, okay, we shall see? I previously had 2 spinal laminectomys (hence the fusion, now.) I also had a neck fusion last year on Sept 17th, not even a year before this surgery.
You went to a rotton hospital if the let you go without having a BM. I go to UCSF and they make sure you go to the restroom before you go home. I went to a rotten hospital the first time had the same experience and I had to have an enema myself because I didn't go for 10 days. I started throwing up. So I went to a hospital with a fantastic reputation! The care was marvelous at UCSF the care at that other place was abominable>
It has little to do with movement . That’s why there are 5 Lumbar vertebra. They are just fusing one to another. The one above and below still has mobility.
