As a long time Clippers fan, this is 1000% a step up from the previous logo. They were actually looking to change the name but fans were very vocal about keeping the Clippers name. We’ve been wanting a good red jersey for MANY years, we finally got it!

It may not be great, but it's a PHENOMENAL improvement over every identity package the team's had since moving from Buffalo to San Diego four-plus decades ago.

The Clippers have already started selling merchandise and apparel with the new insignia through their online team store, and did a pop-up store at one of the local shopping centers in the city

The basketballs in the NBA team logos are not just a trend, it is a requirement by the league to have a least one logo in team brand have a basketball in it.

It's not even a clipper!... 🤣 ...A clipper is a sailing ship, with multiple mast, full rig sails - jibs and mains - adding up to no less than thirty. My initial thought when I saw it was they should've just changed their name to the SuperYachts... 😃 ...Having said all that though I'll take it. Everything Sterling did with the team after he stole them from San Diego has been a march toward mediocrity. The attitude under Ballmer is different, and I can see the Lakers fading to second place in Tinseltown if they don't get their act together...

They needed an update, their current one looks like the template for titles on EA Sports covers in the late 2000s, just go look at NBA Live 08 lol

Wished they would've kept the brighter blue rather than navy blue. Sports went through a "blue" era in the 90s where many teams changed to incorporate navy blue, which was popular at the time. Many have since ditched it for more unique and brighter colors.

That is a clean logo and doesn't look like an NBA Logo. You described it well and I would say it would make a great secondary logo and maybe a corporate logo for events or nice clothing if sports teams had formal/more formal wear ... I understand L.A. has one of the nations biggest ports, but being the logo looks so corporate, it would have been cool to have them move to San Diego because for some reason I think of nice yachts in San Diego over L.A.!!! GREAT LOGO

Overall, I think that everything looks pretty nice. The only change that I would make would be on the court. It should read 'L.A. Clippers' as opposed to LA Clippers because technically L.A. = Los Angeles and LA = Louisiana.

It actually looks like a logo for a ferry service. It's definitely something to get used to as a sports logo. They should reference and incorporated hair clipper or scissors in the logo

It looks like a baseball logo with the circle. In my opinion if you make it navy blue and northwest green you'd confuse it with the Mariners logo.

I think it’s a great logo but my only knock on it is that the ship itself or the C should’ve been red, that way it would’ve stood out more. I think the C and clipper ship being the same color makes it blend in too much. Besides that, still a great logo. Jerseys look great too, I think the jersey number font looks a little bland but overall they did a great job with everything

Logo looks like a Carnival cruise ship. But anything was an improvement. A new look, but will they be the same ol' Clippers? I would have changed the name entirely. It's too synonymous with losing.

I liked the previous logo, it had a '70's vibe to it. This looks like either a corporate logo for a bank or a ship that's being targeted by a battleship's main battery. This Logo has too much going on with it. Less is often more because more is usually too much. One can easily miss the basketball symbology on this logo which means...they did it wrong. It kinda sucks...

REAL "Clipper" ships looked NOTHING like the ugly ship in the Logo. REAL "Clipper" ships were Beautiful Works of VISUAL Art (as well as. of course. utilitarian effectiveness). Each "Clipper" ship had many large BEAUTIFUL Sails. "Clipper ships' overall appearance was so Beautiful that many people had miniature models of "Clipper" ships in their homes as works of visually appealing Art. The Logo should have featured a REAL "Clipper" ship in all its Majestic Beauty.

NBA Clippers should have relocated from L/A to O/C to play hoops at Honda Ctr where NHL Ducks play puck upon attract both O/C & S/D counties during 1990s or 2000s. It looks like the logo you'd see for a fish and chips joint overlooking a harbour. Something along the lines of "Perry's" or "Fisherman Bill's". I also use the rule that if you have to explain the logo, it doesn't work. This doesn't work for me.

I know I may be in the minority here, but I gotta say…I’m loving the L.A. Clippers’ rebrand. I don’t even root for the Clippers, but I’m still loving the rebrand. They’re moving into their own arena, they’re getting new, wonderful uniforms, and their new logo - in my opinion - is excellent. Steve Ballmer has done an excellent job carving a new and positive identity for the Clippers. If he wins an NBA title, his work will already be complete. P.S. Brodie, to answer your question: The Chicago Bulls logo does not have a basketball in the logo. The Bulls logo is also one of the best sports team logos ever.

Clippers needed a rebrand and I kinda like some of the ideas but I think the ship in the center looks odd. Someone in these comments compared it to a fish and chips shop and that couldn’t be more accurate. It may just take time to get used to though, just like any new team branding

The franchise relocated to Southern California after the team were renamed the Clippers. The team should have remained in San Diego to recognize the racing ships rather than moving to L.A. where they would always be known as L.A.'s second team-much like the White Sox are to the Cubs, the Islanders are to the Rangers, the Jets are to the Giants, the Nets are to the Knicks.

Only smart thing the Clippers ever done; release the renderings now and start gathering feedback. The ship is too large. shrink it 30-40% and it will be solid

That logo speaks a different language than the new building. I always felt the old logo looked outdated and have never been a fan of condensed type which was used a lot in the 80s… I always read “CLAC” when I saw the logo. This new branding feels like “ some boat club in Marina del Rey”… feels static, not fresh. In this day and age a lot could have been done, instead… looks 30 years old and not in a good way. It’s ok, I’m a Lakers fan! Lakers logo… awesome.

The logo is interesting but I don’t hate it as well. I think I would have done something related to the barber shop culture. They already use red and blue like a barbershop pole 💈and when you search up clipper you see the machines they use to cut hair.

The NBA mandates basketballs in logos for all new creations. The Bulls, for example, are exempt. But if they were ever to rebrand, they would have to have a basketball logo.

I'm not a basketball fan, just making an observation. I recognized it was a ship, it didn't look like anything else to me but if it didn't say clippers I might have thought it was a cruise ship. I wonder if maybe they wanted something that expressed what the name of the team means because there are probably people who don't know a clipper is a type of ship. I don't know if the problem is the logo or the name of the team since I wouldn't associate a clipper with a basketball team. But then, like I said, I'm not a basketball fan, so I don't know.
