Somehow a sexless, faceless, ass-tentacle monster is the most relatable character, because he just wants to explore the hylics world and find arcade machines to play on. Also who doesn't love a nice refreshing cup of water?
The absolute gent goes camping at the foot of an evil efidice, hunts their own meat with a sword and spitroasts it at a campfire, packing only a cupcake for provisions.
this sounds like an adventurer's theme while he's exploring uncharted territory, with only himself and his physical capabilities. it sounds actually epic, i love this and it helps me get dedusmuln's personality a lot more!!
he's always been an archeologist of sorts. When you first meet him in Hylics, he's camping out in a tent in the mountain. I love the consistency from start to finish, how it seems like there was never a single moment of doubt in the writer's mind as to what kind of person he is.
@@connordarvall8482 more accurate to say it was recorded on a iPhone. Chuck and Mason both are playing actually instruments for the most part. Just goes to show you don't need the beat equipment in the world to record and release good music.
4/4 absolutely nailed every character with each song. Whatever way I felt about character themes before this has absolutely changed after a listen here!
The splashes and glittering of the synths here sound so magical! Almost makes me wanna cry I love it so much ;) The archeological study of Pre-Accretion artifacts can be a tough job (even a straight-up murderous one if you run into the wrong crowd), but also a very beautiful and fulfilling one
Say, if you were up to elucidating me on this matter, what's the Accretion? Part of me feels like it's the event where folks are cursed to speak nonsense word-salad, but I could be wrong. I do know Pongorma lived through that era tho.
@@Mike14264 Admittedly the game itself doesn't really go into any detail on what exactly the Accretion was. If memory serves I believe it had something to do with ending the Age of Sages that happened a long time ago. Considering that the term "accretion" means the accumulation of layers of a material, I always theorized that it had to do with the original Hylemxylem collapsing and covering up the old cities under thick layers of terrestrial juice (hence the underground ruins). But like I said, that's just my own personal interpretation!
@@desolationofprog5729 yeah, I did discuss that with other people, and I think that's the most logical theory. Most of the elaborate or weird terms in Hylics are still actual, real words, so maybe all we need is a quick search for our primitive brains to really get a grip on them.
Right now im replacing a security guard for night shift on a big ass school that i never visited before, and these music of Moonage Lobotomy are my companion The best companion, thanks to you both, wonderful higher beings that made Hylics 1 and 2
@@BobbinRobbin777 imagine how funny that would be. You enter some ancient ruins that are buried deep within the rock... only to realize you entered an office building through the ceiling!
A few days ago during a conversation about art, we came up with the question of whos our favourite contemporary artist and you were the first name that came to my mind, almost instantly lol
Hey Chuck, if you're reading this, did you make these character themes with a personality in mind or is it more up to interpretation? The themes are sick, and I feel like it gives each character at least twice as much personality as they had without them. Thank you for all your work!
I listened to Som’s theme before this and everyone said that one was like Prevailing Westerlies, now you can’t miss it with this one. Nice little record whirl on the flute.
Where’s Chuck? He’s always in these comments! Great work to both of you guys. I was just thinking about Hylics music again out of the blue yesterday, but was preoccupied so I didn’t listen to any. Imagine my surprise when lo and behold this morning I see this!
Listening to the slippery whistle sound in this theme, I naturally appeared in my mind of twisted plants growing from the ground, like returning to the maze full of monsters in the game. Typically Hylics music. Perfect!
this sounds like something youd hear while driving off in the heats of a dessert. you dont know where your going and your just living in the moment and enjoying the ride
I really think you should start a side project similar to Gorillaz in concept, with Chuck doing most of the music and Mason animating the band and other random Hylics stuff for the music videos
If they could get a hold of maybe one more person to help that sort of project since it can be very time consuming Would love it to be real lol There is so much potential in hylics
Mr. Lindroth... know that Hylics and Hylics 2 are an incredible legacy, but know some of us fans would absolutely love a Hylics 3, Or an expansion to Hylics 2, zero pressure however. Thank you for all your work and creativity, we love you Mason!
A fitting theme for our friend in exploration, Dedus! I wanted to capture that wonder/mystery for this theme and for ‘Seasons’ on Absent Moon. Same vibe, ya know?
@@francocarrasco79 yes! I remember being worried that I had somehow accidentally copied another song on Seasons…not realizing that I was subconsciously adding leitmotifs from Danse. Then I leaned into the leitmotifs super hard.
oh my god I've figured out what this soundtrack reminds me of: roller coaster tycoon or one of those theme park games I played, but funkier. hylics 2 music is like RCT3 music but it goes harder.
