We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!

After just 1 week back in our "happy place" we are finding ourselves living a beautiful gentle rhythm that we only feel when here at Vivasogni.
It's our own version of La Dolce Vita Italiana and we love it so much.

I began my love of Tuscany in 1992 and finally bought a place in the Chianti Classico which I owned until 2016 my recommendation is to become proficient enough in Italian to get to know the local people. When I return now, I spend a lot of time at the bar centrale connecting with people that I’ve come to know over many years. I to watch a lot of the château people, but they are not locals. Hope you enjoy your travels immensely.

We have made loads of local Italian friends and that was always my goal as I’ve loved Italy since I was a child. You’re absolutely right about spending time getting to know the locals… they’re wonderful people whom we love ♥️🥰 our chateau friends are fellow expats on different places so we enjoy watching their experiences! Chianni is so gorgeous in the spring. Excited to see your videos from your travels. Spent a week in Varenna in 2015 and absolutely loved it. We spent another week in Stresa on Lake Maggiore and it is another fabulous area near Como. ❤️

They start on the facade tomorrow they say, so hopefully my neighbour will be watching. We are currently resting after a very big 2 day wedding south of Paris and then we will start our trip south which is very exciting. Oh thank you so much Rhondal! We have lots of little sweet names for one another but that’s a word that David actually gave himself! He always said he was happy to be my “punkah wallah” who in the ancient times was the Indian person who fanned their master from the heat. Hello Denise! That’s great news… we had a lovely afternoon with Darlene and Shaun which I will share soon! We are road travelling most days so it’s hard to edit! PS Airing your pillows & bed linen in the sunshine is the best! Kills the bugs and makes them smell so fresh. The Japanese always put their futons out over the balcony every morning ( weather permitting )

Hello Jon and thank you for watching! If you go back and watch our very first videos, we explain thoroughly our entire journey from finding our home online during the pandemic. We didn’t know the village or the area at all! Plus I have no family in Tuscany. I show how I researched each village using Google earth and 3 different online real estate sites. MAGICAL as always! I have followed from the start of your journey in Italy. Those views and the sleepy town walks. So peaceful. LOVE your little home Marisa and David and how much you have done. Love the mirror with the candle! David is very handy and its great you involve him. I love with Nicki Positano and her husband Carlo who now gets really involved with the vlogs which is wonderful. This is beautiful. I’m in Rome right now, but not really liking it all that much. Just wanted to take my dad’s ashes to the Vatican with me. Not speaking Italian is a big hindrance. I was in Porto, Madrid now Rome. I could not learn 3. I did better with Spanish as I know a little bit. Beautiful place. At 64 I’m having a hard time learning languages. 😂

Language learning is tougher the older we get but it’s fantastic for your brain and I highly recommend continuing! Even the basic are well accepted anywhere you go. I like the mirror but the candle seems too tall. I believe one no more than 4 inches tall would fair better.

That’s a valid point but I just put that as it was the only one I had left in the cupboard. When we go candle shopping I intended on buying a box of shorter one 🥰♥️
