When 🇪🇸 gets together with🇫🇷….a kid born in 🏴 in the 1970s whose folks came from 🇱🇰 fell in love with music ‘La Mer’ - a truly international song!! Gracias Julio 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Became a devoted fan the first time I heard him sing❤️. I didn’t speak Spanish or French and yet his musicality was universal and I got it. Had the pleasure of seeing him in concert many, many years ago at the Albert Hall in London🙏💞
I only ever heard Bobby Darin's version. Then I watched Tinker Tailor and fell in love with the French version. Sounds do much more beautiful in French, whoever sings it.
Yes. But that tie, though.. lol, only Julio could have gone away with wearing it like that. Then again, fashionably it was the anything-goes-1970s after all.
@@MTMF.londonMy point was that he not only memorises the lyrics for the song, but he also memorises the exact pronunciation as well, so perfectly that you would think that Julio was an actual French speaker. I am saying that Julio is gifted not just with a tremendous singing voice, but in also in terms of being a perfect mimic.
@@PhysalisFranchetti Most singers are good mimics. Spanish-speaking people can easily learn other Latin-based languages - it's not a big deal. Julio recorded many songs in French, Portugues, Italian, German besides English and Spanish.
Thank you for the upload. Naturally, after having seen Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy I started looking for the song on RU-vid. Until your upload, there was only one version of the song, performed by Julio Iglesias but it only had a photo as a background. This live performance is a real gem and I thank you for it once more!
My greatest sadness in life is that this legend will one day leave us, he is honestly the single greatest singer to ever walk this planet. His talent will never be matched.
@@mikesradguitars I was also wondering. On the outro of live version recorded at Olympia bass player is introduced as Rafael....but can't make out the surname. Assume its the same one - but then that was the sound in vogue
The sea That we see dance along clear gulfs Has silver highlights Changing reflections Under the rain The sea In the summer sky blends Its white foam With angels so pure The sea In a blue azure Infinite Look Beside the ponds The wet seaweed Look Those white sea birds And those rusty houses The sea Cradles a love song The sea Cradles my heart Forever
Have you seen the BBC mini-series that was aired in 1979? I saw it here on RU-vid and it is fantastic in that regard. It really deepens the characters' dimensions. If you haven't seen it you should. Just be warned that you will become addicted and your whole week-end may get shot to hell becuase of its nearly 5 hour length.
I heard this song two times this week, on Mr Bean's Holiday movie and La Taupe film ( Tinker Tailor Soldier spy)... It's a beautiful song, I like it more with Julio Iglesias :).
On the top of his phenomenal game...oh... my... goodness😳 Hypnotic as a Warm🌄summer rain upon a singing 🏞️brook through a mystical forest 🌲🌲🌳🌲🌲🌳🌳 Yikes.... Look over Julio's right sholder at 125. The guy playing the guitar is the guy from the movie who gets shot and later on shoots Colin Firth..............
