Bless your heart Doug I’m 81 and grew up through this awesome period of steel guitar, it will never grow old or out of mode. Thanks a million, absolutely love & appreciate this. From Western Australia 😇❤️👍❤️😇
I do not have the proper words to describe this unbelievably beautiful melody! It proves to me that there is a God who loves us and sends us people with such great talent to write and play such wonderful music.
My grandmother use to sing this song, when she was in the kitchen cooking, I was around 6 yrs., TY for the beautiful memories, of grandma, her house, her laugh, tears are falling!!
Brings back memories. My fathers favourite. He died at the age of 42 in 1964 after finally succumbing to the effects of wounds he received in the Pacific during WW2. Miss ya Dad.
All the different country’s heard from reminds me that music is the universal language. My first visit to your Chanel but certainly not my last ! Thank You
Mr. Beaumier you have Magic in your Hands, who are able to send such soothing vVibrations into an old Heart....Thank you Sir, viele Dank , so gluecklich von dieser Melody.........sigh !!
Every time I listen to you play I am blown away by how easy you make it look and how beautiful your sound and tone set's you apart from other steel players. Thanks Doug for sharing your gift with us.
My jaws ache from grinning with pure pleasure. Seldom can steel guitars reach so gently and deeply into my soul. . .Some of the lovely harmonies are reminiscent of "Spanish Eyes," which I have always loved.
I'm glad the tune brings back fond memories for you. It was written in the 1800's, and over the years has been and recorded and re-interpreted by many singers and bands.
Doug this is the first time I came to your channel. I must congratulate you on your fantastic playing. As a fellow musician for 63 plus years I know talent when I hear it. You have it you have it. great to hear some one like you play this song so great. I already have signed up to your station.
Don't know how your channel came to be on my radar, but the lovely old melodies you render so beautifully, made me subscribe. Thank you for the step back in time.
Thank you Doug! I always look forward to your next song with anticipation. You are a breath of fresh air to this otherwise dreary world we live in today. Thank you for making it better note by note. 😊
I have always loved this song. Two versions are hands down my favorite, Marty Robbins singing it in Spanish, and Connie Francis singing in English ( not the correct words, but great). Now I have to add a third to the list. Absolutely beautiful sir. God bless ya'll and stay safe.
Hello Doug, This is a beautiful version of La Paloma. This piece was composed by the Spanish composer Sebastian Iradier in the 1850's. He was from the Basque region of Spain. This piece has been performed by numerous artists. Your performance on the string steel guitar gives it a special and wonderful sound and feel! I loved this performance.....Will Ortiz
Hi Will, I'm glad you like the video! This song has been a favorite of mine for a long time and I finally got around to recording it. Thanks for listening. 😊👍
@@dougsteel Hello Doug, You have a tremendous following. It took me awhile to find my comment. I wondered if you ever considered playing the Theme from the movie Billitus. I have heard it played on electric guitar but never on steel guitar. This theme is very beautiful and I think it would sound really great on steel guitar. I hope you are able to do this piece at some future date. Regards, Will Ortiz
I ask god to keep u in a good health to keep playing I know the songs many many years ago their beautiful but listening them with the sound of ur guitar makes them a lot more beautiful god bless 👍🙏
In 'circa 1954: I heard Jerry Byrd play "Paloma"; on His new Album (I think it was on "Hi FI Guitar"). And it knocked me out. Because it was one of two Spanish songs: Paloma and LaGaldorina; that I will never forget; how Jerry nailed those beautiful "classic" songs. And I thought "NO one could ever come close to how Jerry did it!" But we are in 2022 now: And I will have to "eat what I thought". Because "our" Doug Beaumier; has knocked me out once again. Wow! Not only your playing Sir. But your band which is YOU Only🤠. Wow! Is there any thing this kind Sir can't play the "Far out"; on his SG's? Huh? Thank you dear friend. Yuz Gottuh Luv It!❤
Aww... thanks Carl! I too love JB's Spanish and somewhat exotic songs. Some others were La Rosita, Estralita, and Golden Earrings. The Master of Touch and Tone. 😁
