Hello all, we hope you enjoyed checking out the affordability of LA Paz! We loved how relaxed and laid back it was and the gazillion things there were to do there. If you are looking for ways to spend your days in this seaside paradise checkout our vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vaYgotxzFxM.html ✌🏾 & ❤ from -The Yarbros
Spent a year and a half in La Paz, it really lives up to its name. The people are friendly, the produce is fresh, and the oceans are perfect for a hot day with a beer. Moving back and looking for property soon.
Fresh food markets are the way to go. Here at home (Portland, Oregon) I spend $6 on red bell peppers. SIX BUCKS!? I think that's one of many appeals of Mexico in general: Fresh fruits and vegetables at a down-home price. I love the showing of different dwellings. It's always interesting to see what you can get for how much. With that said, just not a Baja gal. Still digging the vlogs. Kudos on more subs, as well!
I understand....I (Rondel) really didn't think I was going to vibe w/ the gringos...but everyone stays to themselves and it is so chill. Fell for it quick lol. Thanks for falling through!
This is very informative and very inspiring. I'm already looking at plane flights to La Paz. I'm well into my 70s, so I have two voices going back and forth. One says I have to be realistic, and look at what will happen as my mental and physical faculties decline, given that I'd be living alone. The other says I need to make the commitment, and get my kropotkin up off the couch and out the door. We'll see which voice wins out. I will be eagerly watching your future videos.
@GeezerPleasers, I’m retired and have one voice that says, ENJOY YOUR LIFE Doing what makes you happy just be prepared for the what if’s. I’m considering La Paz, Querétaro and possibly two other location.
Do it wile and can. Most of my friends are waiting for God. Not me ! House is in escrow , I've reduced my possessions to 4 suitcases and a Tacoma . You can't cheat death but you can, cheat life.
Recently returned from two weeks in LaPaz. The most beautiful magical place on earth! Looking for a home in Centenario and hoping to run into you folks at the market! Great video!🙏👍💪🏖🍹🍤
Yarbros 😱 that intro is 🔥 😍‼️‼️ You ✌️ are stepping up your RU-vid game & I’m here for it‼️‼️ Yes I’m being loud but you two deserve the Kudos. 😉 😜 forgive my excessive use of ‼️
As Baja California Sur's capital, La Paz is mostly used as a jumping-off point for Cabo San Lucas' beach resorts. However, its old-world charm and pleasant waterfront promenade featuring international art and restaurants overlooking the grey whale-inhabited water are reasons worth sticking around.
La Paz is now on my radar thanks to you guys. Great video and information for the Free Agents out there like myself. Also looking at Phuket Thailand for settling down but we shall see. Thx again for sharing. Free Agent From Washington DC.
I like it when my white brothers like my country, but I get a special joy to see my black brothers enjoy my country and culture. Life is beautiful. By the way she can compete in the long jump
Yaaaaaay! That kitchen is on point. Sams and Costco, I have to say have very good quality clothing. I. Like how the meat you showed was pink and not heavy on that red chemical. Farmers markets are definitely the way to go 🥬🥦🥒🥝🍓🍎 Wow they have soursop fruit, my fav!
La Paz is amazing. One of my favorite places in the world. My only issue with livability is they pretty much import food and water so I don't think it will be sustainable moving forward. Which is a bummer.
Yep - Mack Fishers is absolutely great. If only they stayed open just a little later. La Paz is hard to beat for consistently great restaurants. Great video, you two.
You got that right when we shot this they were closed like 10 minutes later lol. I thought it was a holiday that I didn't know about or something. Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
Love you guys! Beautiful couple! I know it’s not easy, but y’all do it unpretentiously, professionally and with love. Hope to meet you one day. Best wishes!
❤️ I’m flattered. I try not to do much at all. I stick with twists for a week, untwist for a few days, wash and repeat (with whatever products and creams available). Maybe I’ll do a RU-vid short 😉
This is one of the BEST videos EVER! SO much variety! I seriously laughed out loud when you were laughing about the RAIN... what a downpour!!! Right? Looked like you both just rolled with it... I loved that! Great food ideas and the Condo/apartment is so sweet! What a great deal! I think I would love it there ... I have been on the other side near Guaymas and also Mazatlán, so looks like La Paz is in the middle opposite the beautiful sea of Cortez../ Thanks for everything you share!
Really glad you enjoyed it! La Paz is great and we can't wait to explore Mazatlan as well....and yes that rain was serious but so was the fun. Thanks for hanging out and laughing w/ us!
I hear you on the used sponges in Mexican Airbnbs, I never understood that. The first thing I did was throw them out. I never jump puddles in the streets of Mexico, too afraid I'll fall on the landing. All the food looked amazing - Anne
Great video, love the restaurant food..will be visiting for sure. I'm going to San Carlos for a month, while there waiting for permanent visa, will visit LaPaz.
Looks like y'all were experimenting with some new video & audio techniques here. On the whole I'd say they worked, except there were a few times when you had two different audio tracks on top of each other (sometimes speaking + speaking, sometimes music + speaking), making it a little harder to actually hear the main speaker, or the spoken audio didn't line up with the moving lips of the speaker (like around 2:04). Apart from a few audio glitches, it was a typically high-quality video, and La Paz really does look like a nice place!
In all transparency my computer with all its software is off for repairs and I had to use a lot if freeware and finessing to produce this video 🥴 it was really hard work can't wait to get my baby back!
I think it's attractive but, other than a beach day, what's really to do? I was there years ago and I remember having a similar downpour that didn't drain anywhere. The locals were simply walking in knee-high waters in the street. I guess it's part of why the sidewalks or bldgs are raised a good couple feet? At least that's what I observed long ago. High curbs and water after a downpour.
Great video guys! I was looking at airbnb's, kinda scurred now lol Did they have good reviews before you went and were false or were you taking chances? Just wondering how to avoid that situation or if maybe we'll just stay at hotels. We're looking at planning a summer trip to baja partly to avoid the triple digit heat where we live. We're basically hermits come August cause it's so dang hot! I know it gets hot in La Paz, but it can't be hotter than here in Riverside, it has gotten to 116 here. NUTS
Yey African Americans in Mexico! Im going to share with my daughter and her husband. They want to move here but are not sure about the cost of living. I live in Todos Santos. So that is where they will arrive. I would like to know how the Mexicans treat you? Any how I'm glad i found you. Or you found me. I grew up in La Paz. My first boyfriend was African American but we don't use that terminology here. He was a Mexican. (He passed away). Your wife make friends everywhere because she's beautiful and very friendly and we are friendly people. Rain? When did it rain?
I also had always thought of La Paz as 'More expensive'. Rondel you crack me up always good for a chuckle coz your automatic child persona taking over all the time "YB Serious" right? Thought for SURE Apryl was gonna be dunkin in that puddle but she put it all ON. Anyway La Paz is on my list !! Hope you got that drone fixed I'm pretty impressed you found it I know of a few that are still 'out there'
Proud to Say ✊🏿 My Family and I Moving there in October. We Be Staying in a Renter To We see where, I like to Purchase my ☝️🏾House 🏠In Mexico 🇲🇽 House Shopping 🇲🇽🏠🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
$1,800? But, what if you broke? Please say it might be less. I feel ya on the nasty Airbnbs, had one January ninth, it was bad! Bailed early, got my money back, then left a proper review the host didn’t like! Heading for Merida soon, it was actually a toss up between La Paz and Merida, but I couldn’t find a stay in La Paz I felt comfortable with, not enough lead time. Just got back into Mexico on the fifth.
Ohh. for much less I'm sure. 1800 is a 2bd, 2 bath close to the beach w/ a lot of entertainment for 2. Pretty sure a single person can live well on a budget around 800-1.2k Saw a few apts for $450 and $500. Glad you are back w/ no complications.
We are moving to Mexico by July and making La Paz our base camp home for a while. I have heard that water is a situation in Baja. Have your heard anything about that?
La Paz is one place I've thought about for retirement, but I'm looking at a little more inexpensive- I liked your video that talked about San Miguel De Allende. What's the expat population like in La Paz?
@@TheYarbros I disagree, I've lived here a while. If you stayed inside your airbnb and didn't do anything other than walk on the malecone no restaurant nodda then sure.
@@mattself1389 Respect but we have different lifestyles...we wouldn't have an Airbnb we'd sign a lease, ride a bike and enjoy the surroundings. We stayed for a few weeks and after staying and pricing it out living like a local there is not expensive at all. We've lived in Guadalajara and Merida for a year each we've been moving around to various cities in MX a month at a time. The rent here is a bit more expensive than other places but everything else is exactly the same for us and our lifestyle.
@@TheYarbros I'd be interested to know the cost of treatment in Mexico if you get stung by one of the lethal varieties. I would bet it's a tiny fraction of what it is in the US. There is one variety of scorpion in Las Vegas which injects a lethal neurotoxin in its sting. I wound up in the ER, getting two intravenous vials of the anti-neurotoxin. Cost: $95,100 for the two vials.
