I can still remember new years the year that this came out, he played the rave in Milwaukee. I can still place the exact spot that I was standing. Shuch a heavy moment. Brings me to tears to this day.
Jesus, the nostalgia. This was the first dubstep I ever heard, this girl on the bus let me listen to what she was listening too and I was hooked. Miss that girl.
@@christiantaylor1495 nah, i listen to both of them and also many big dubstep producer right now like Excision, Soltan, Zomboy, Oolacile, Dr. Ozi, Kompany, Badklaat, Barely Alive etc. The only producer that come close to this is Space Laces.
This is a masterpiece. Few other tracks have so many cool elements: loud punchy drums, catchy melodies, monster growls, lots of little random sounds and details, non-sensical vocal chopping that somehow still is communicative, the hype of the german kid screaming before the drop...and, unlike his Hey Sexy Lady remix, here the second drop actually has notable differences from the first and is significantly "this is the last stand now" sounding, after which the track gradually fades out by stripping away different elements. Can't praise it enough, loved it since 10 years ago, and always will.
Modern electronic music owes so much to Skrillex, I think he was truly the first contemporary artist to show the music industry that modern producers were artists too and that noise could have a mainstream place in melody.
Aaron Cubitt skrillex pioneered his own genre. Stop trying to look cool. I guarantee you weren’t even born in the 90s. Because dubstep sounded nothing like this before 2010. Appreciate what skrillex has done for music and shut up
@Aaron Cubitt you're either insanely stupid or just a straight up troll. Everyone knows Skrillex pioneered the modern dubstep sound. Hence why dubstep exploded into the mainstream. Why do you think even your mum knows who Skrillex. This kid got mainstream radio time making fucking dubstep. That was unheard of. Show us all a dubstep song before 09 that had sound design like this :)
I loved La Roux and Skrillex as an awkward pre-teen. Finding out he remixed one of their tracks was my Roman Empire at like, 12. Man, I used to listen to this every morning on the way to school.
When this came out me and my best friend from my high school really dig this song he unfortunately died his first year of college. Everytime I listen I feel just like I did back then with the Everlasting Vibe of my good friend. Thank you Skrillex
You and me both, my friend. My bff and I were constantly bumping Skrillex back in high school. She died last year, but every time I hear Skrilly it takes me back to the greatest times of my life with her.
The thing about the golden era of dubstep is although in songs like this skrillex uses about a million different sounds, the beat is still simple and it’s not overdone, seems easy to do that with dubstep but man this is just art
He did specialize in Dubstep, as many other electronic artists did, cause that's where the views were, now hes doing more different music as dubstep is not as big anymore.
12 years later responding to a 7 year old comment. It’s missed way more every passing day, honestly tho the OG RU-vid days overall will be forever missed. The days of true creativity are long gone.
JUST WHAT I NEED!!! after the stress of what the world is coming to in 2023, skrillex just makes so happy by his songs taking me back to the good days in 2011 when i was 16 years old. just Melts away the stress of the world around me.
I'm glad we all have crazy nostalgia with this song. Weird to say but this song changed my life. This was my intro to dubstep and I fell in love immediately.
@@SiamHossain7 Only discovered him in 2014 but I love his vision/sound. Incredibly talented. Lets not forget Seven Lions. Talk about being on another level...so many happy memories.
bruh why are skrillex fans so fucking dumb making me feel embarrassed for liking the guy he was not "ahead" he was never a pioneer and that's ok can you just enjoy the music for what it is and stop trying to act like skrillex invented music
Jordan Hammond There is nothing in the dictionary which defines the word 'nostalgia' as being designated for use only after a certain amount of time has passed. Someone can feel nostalgic at the age of 13, since the definition of nostalgia only refers to the evocation of an emotion from ones past. TLDR? Pull your head in, idiot.
But you must realise that the nature of recorded sound/music is that it acts as its own (at least 'emotional') time-machine. You can go back any time you like. Unless you've...'partied' way too hard and barely have any dopamine left like my good self. About 10 days should do it, then I'll be back in 2014. Skrillex to an extent, Seven Lions, Delta Heavy, She...
I heard this one around ten years ago but never was able to find it. Today i was looking at Skrillex's old tracks and thought "I don't remember this one at all? What's that?". And i was blown away. It's so good and nostalgic
Although Skrillex kind of got left behind in a way the man is such a legend. Literally brought dubstep/trap music to the world and made it popular will always be the GOAT of music like this.
+XxSh4rpShooter1 Same, same. The original from La Roux was my and my Bestfriend/Girlfriend's favorite song in highschool. and I've always loved this remix
