A mi me encanta la versión de Schipa y Toti dal Monte. Era la cortina musical de la mejor audicion de opera que escuche en España. Ars canendi de Arturo Reverter, gran admirador dr Kraus. Pero eligio a Schipa...

Y no compare a Florez con Kraus por Dios. Usted con tal de no admitir que Kraus junto a Schipa eran los dos mejores en estos papeles alaba al que sea. Que ya nos conocemos. Florez canta aquí con un micrófono incorporado para captar la grabación. En vivo Florez es un mosquito. Tan solo me convence en Rossini.
Gracias para compartir. I have seen his Sonnambula at the Met with Nathalie Dessay on the Met Player so many times, it is superb. The phrases are so long, beautiful voice, shading and breath control and he also really captures the emotions Elvino is going through. What an intense roller coaster.
Very precise and beautiful singing, however the rendition of the duet by Juan Diego Florez and Natalie Dessay at MET in 2007 remains absolutely matchless. Here the tempo is a little too slow, the scene is "stiff", lacking staging and charm. From a moment JDF has been singing to the audience and not to his stage partner. And his voice doesn't sound as wonderfully fresh and ringing as at MET - but nearly 7 years have passed... Maybe this is a matter of acoustics and recording, though. Great, in spite of all!
