@@Tiripsroirraw Jack was allowed to do as he pleased with La Toya for almost a decade. I partly place the blame on Joe and Katherine Jackson. They sheltered her too much. Jack lured her in sadly.
@@stephenfdb Yeah was way too sheltered. She didn't have much of a backbone. That's actually very dangerous when coming to as a adult in the real world. It's like throwing a bloody blinded prey into a ocean full of sharks
i mean its fine if the person knows what they are getting into. that was just the kind of jokes Howard made! and he had that reputation. i thought its funny. also she literally came on the show like 8 times in total.
Wow this is insane. She told the world he was beating her and everyone just continued to let it happen. So sad. The lawyer that called in even tried to help her, telling her the marriage wasn't even legal. You can tell Jack had been trying to keep that information from her. What a shitshow. Glad she is out from under that now but my god, this is horrible what happened to her.
@@Tiripsroirraw So damn inappropriate. Its just too much. I was so uncomfortable for her. Seeing this woman sit between one manipulative, abusive douchebag on one side and another predatory douchebag on the other side is sickening.
@@SeanWarren I wish Latoya had more of a backbone when it came to Stern. I can see why she was afraid of dealing with Jack. But to go along with that whole touching mess at 18:17 ugh. I recently watched a youtube clip of Anna Nicole Smith / Dana Plato when they were on Howard's show. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to go on there. I wonder if Jack & Howard were friends.
@@Tiripsroirraw I wish she would have had more of a backbone but I think she grew one over the years. This was painful to watch but it sheds so much more light on what she endured.
I noticed that too !! especially at the 15:04 mark when she mimed the word " Yes " right before saying " I'm ok right now " when Howard asked her was she upset because of Jack.
This was absolutely disgusting! LaToya was uncomfortable between those dogs and openly stated she was being abused and no one did a thing. Terrible!!! Really disturbing!!
Why didn't her brothers just jump him'??🤣& don't say because they are lovers not fighters when 4 out of 6 of them feel very comfortable putting their hands on women.
cc, I just watched the " Debarge " Unsung episode. That episode haunts me still. Their dad use the beat the living hell out of his wife & kids. Also raped at least one of his kids. Bunny said one day her uncles found out ( her mom's brothers ) and they came to the house and beat the F out of him.
They were a famous black family and likely it would’ve caused a huge scandal and lawsuit, I’m sure they’ve thought about it too. With everything going on at the time from the rumors of the Jackson family and Michael, jumping Jack Gordon would’ve ruined the family image in the media with how the media would report things in the newspaper, news, etc.
La Toya and that headphone set was driving me insane. I get that she didn't want to mess her wig up but had she kept it in one place it would have been so much more stable than moving it around. lol Thanks for posting this piece of forgotten treasure. I think I may have saw this one a few years back. Along with the one from 1996 when she had dyed her hair blonde. La Toya is an interesting woman. She was so reluctant to say or do anything sexual during the conversation with Howard. But then she's promoting this Playboy video of her doing sexual acts nude. To me its two opposite extremes. I understand that Jack Gordon pushed or forced her to do it, but at the same time its cringe worthy. Thanks again for posting this!
This is sad and hard to watch. She’s literally dropping hints for help and they’re laughing. It hurts to see especially that other black woman Robin making jokes about it and Michael. Disgusting
He's telling everyone to their face he's not leaving for the money and there is abuse and no one is doing anything! That should have been, "Call the cops now" and separate them on the spot!
I really like LaToya and I feel for her situation. That marriage was terribly abusive and Jack Gordon was a monster. The only thing about this interview is that it contradicts her claims in her book Starting Over. I’ve read that book many times. In it, LaToya claims that she was trained to smile and say the lines that Jack fed her, or else she would be badly beaten. Also, she claimed that if she spoke out about the abuse that Jack threatened her and her siblings’ lives. How could she openly talk about his abusive ways in a public interview heard around the country with Jack sitting right next to her? If he had instilled that much fear in her, then she would not be able to do this without being badly beaten or killed. In the book she explains that she was trained to keep silent about the abuse that she wouldn’t even tell her family, let alone speak out to the media. I’m not denying that Gordon was abusive. He was a terrible person and an abuser, no doubt. There’s so much evidence for this. However, some of LaToya’s claims just don’t seem to add up.
@@stephenfdb throughout the book and in the interviews LaToya said Gordon instilled so much fear in her that she would always say what he wanted her to say, otherwise she’d be badly beaten or killed. Here she is sitting next to him, essentially humiliating him on live radio. That right there doesn’t add up. She’s doing two things he forbade her to do; speak openly in an interview and say things he never approved of, and speak out against the abuse he inflicted upon her. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending him. Jack Gordon was a vile person and I believe that he did indeed abuse LaToya. Perhaps some of these claims were exaggerated, because in interviews with Jack, she seems to be open and honest about their relationship and her issues with him. Another theory is that she was at her breaking point during this period. She did file for divorce a year or two after this interview. So maybe I’m wrong, maybe at this point LaToya wanted out of the marriage so badly that she’d do anything to break free, even if it meant risking her life.
@@Vf46 I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I believe he was abusive and beat her but not on a daily basis and I truly believe she told the truth about her family in the 90s. They tried way too hard to dismiss her as some crazy attic lady.
@@Vf46 in her last interview to Howard Stern after she escaped Jack (but before getting together with the family) she admits she only regrets the Playboy video which was what he forced her to do. She wanted to do the previous 2 spreads. However, she changes her story and blames everything on Jack in her book saying she never wanted to do Playboy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MrM0cX1r4M8.html
💔 I've noticed some body language with La Toya during this interview, I edited a video that shows the clues. Along with domestic violence resources ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nl2QB6sXBHk.html Robin said she ran into her ( La Toya ) in the bathroom at K-Rock one time and she was in there crying. Robin said Latoya told her she was afraid of Jack and she had to get away from her. Robin said she didn't do anything and just went back into the studio after that. Robin said Latoya told her not to say anything. Howard said that she could have stayed on the air and made an announcement that she had to get away from the guy. Howard said she could have announced that on the air and asked the cops to come. Howard said he bets Tom Chiusano wouldn't have let her stay. He probably would have kicked her out of the building. Robin said that she was amazed that such a little man could cause so many problems with Latoya. That led to the guys talking about how they don't really do anything when they see people in distress. Artie said he saw a famous football player treating a girl like shit one time and he went up and said something to him. The guy told him to get the fuck away from him but in the meantime the bouncers got him. Jason said that he and some other guys were in Amsterdam and they saw a woman being robbed. They watched her getting robbed and waited for the guy to leave. Then they went over and asked her for directions.
