Man, I have never seen so many developers in one place - and that includes my local photo stores! Looks like you’ve got a great inventory - ready for any film stock imaginable.

I do like to be prepared! And I was never even in the Scouts! Thanks for watching 🍻

I’m a big fan of Diafine myself! I just made a new batch a few days ago along with some E76 from the Darkroom Cookbook. Great video by the way!

Diafine is pretty awesome! E76? Is that a more environmentally friendly version of D76? Thanks for the kind words and for watching 🍻

@@AlexLuyckxPhoto yes it is. The chemicals used are, Phenidone, Sodium Sulfite, Asorbic Acid, and Borax. Cheers!

@@Patio.Utterson Oh yes I've seen the formula too, but I have yet to try it myself! The dev times are said to be the same as D-76 stock but I wonder about what character the images take!

@@xwingfighter999I can’t tell the difference, but then again I have not done a side by side comparison.

Very good video. I just developed my b/w roll today, and got results. I used Ilfoso l 3 and my Jobo 2400 tank, no dark bag or room required.

Great informative video Alex. You use a lot of developers. I do not develop my film for a long period at home so I still keep the chemistry really limited. I use 510Pyro and Fomadon R09 as dev's. I never use a special stopbath so plain water at the temperature needed. I use the Patterson tank for 120mm film and the stearman press for 4x5. All inversions by hand. I always use fresh made developer so I allways use a syringe to measure exactly the amount needed. I only develop black and white film at home I rarely shoot that expensive colorfilm. I made one improvement on the changing bag. I made a frame of thin pvc tubing to put in my changing bag. That way the bag is like a box-like tent and does not touch my hands or film and gives enough free space to do the work. I'am interested in the B's processor. In the video you did mention of cutting the developing time 10%. Is that time the same as the approach with a rotary processor?

Great idea on the pvc pipe frame! Will keep that in mind! Also the 10% figure is from my own experiments. Thanks for watching 🍻

That’s a great idea to make a frame for your changing bag. What size pvc pipe did you use and did you make a square frame or do you bend the pvc pipe and put it under tension each time you assemble the bag?

Excellent video, Alex, except for the omission of stainless steel tanks and reels. People either love them or hate them. Just as people either love the plastic Patterson reels or they hate them.

Thanks! I have nothing against stainless steel, I just don’t use them and therefore don’t include. I try to speak on only what I know! Thanks for watching 🍻

Nice! I just recently learned that adox makes a version of d76 and its great considering the whole kodak chemistry availability mess!

I stay with HC110 and R09 for my developers. Measure with a syringe, one for each, and have fresh developer each time. I use cheap mesuring cups to hold the chemistry while developing. I do have one GOOD mesuring cup for the water that I mix the developer concentrate with.

Excellent video Alex! Why use only the small tank on the B's? I have this processor and use tanks all the way to the 5 reels Paterson tank. Try it out!! 😊

I also got a bottle of HR-Dev, and it's yellow before opening it. Have you seen differences in development with your bottle that seems to have some coloration?
@AlexLuyckxPhoto

I worked through my bottle and didn’t see any difference in development. So I would try it on an unimportant roll just in case. Thanks for watching 🍻

I would add a rinsed out Chamois Leather to wipe down the wet film after it has been washed.
