Lab Optical Equipment Review: Eakins Inspection Scope, Optivisor, Amscope Trinocular Microscope

Those amscope microscopes cannot be beat. They have become pretty standard issue in the phone repair world among people doing board repair. If using the microscope without a barlow lens, add just a plate glass lens to it to keep flux smoke out while soldering. You might also put a clamp on the base as they get a little tippy even with all the weight those bases are. What ring light are you using? It's hard to find good ones that both don't flicker and don't put off a blue light. Its not easy to find one that doesn't give you a headache after a couple hours use.

Can this be used as normal camera also ? like not with macro focus lens ? thanks

interesting review, have you may be some idea why it is not possible adjust the WB setting via PC on USB connection, however it possible with HDMI direct connection to display?

I recently purchased an Eakins from AliExpress. It didn't come with instructions to put it together. By chance do you know where we could find a set on instructions?

I bought a Eakins trinocular microscope whats the differince between the Eakins cameras my scope came with the 38MP FHD camera v6?

Is there a way to fix the difference in the field view being much much more narrow then what you see through the lenses ? I know i need some kind of adapter, but which one ?

Simul-Focal is the trinocular port with out the need to move a mirrror.

Useful review, try an additional light like a goose neck light and you will be amazed, you have trouble with zoom and autofocus because you don't have enough light.

Yikes! Those Amscopes are pricey! A nice simul-focul model with LED ring light comes to over AUD $1,300 including delivery. I get that delivering a heavy scope half way across the world is expensive, but it's almost 30% of the total price. Obviously the Eakins is a lot cheaper from Aliexpress, although it's interesting that same Aliexpress store sells a scope suspiciously similar (read: identical) to the Amscope, with all the accessories for about half the price delivered.

Greetings! I was tricked by the seller of the Eakins microscope - Eakins Microscope Store. There is no HDMI image, the sensor sent not a high-quality Sony IMX 290, but a cheap IMX 307. I would like to ask you to check the presence of + 5V on the 18 HDMI contact from the microscope. Is + 5V supplied to pin 20 (VDD5) FE1.1S USB 2.0 HIGH SPEED 4-port HUB Controller? My FE1.1S controller has a №20 pin off the board. Besides, check it out, please. Is there +5V on pin 18 of the HDMI connector?

No I will not recommend an auto focus 14:25 specially if your working on your boards it keeps autofocusing and it’s quite annoying, 17:19 that amscope version is expansive but it is nice it’s just too hard on someone else’s pockets, I use a V.2 microscope by Northridge Fix not that expansive plus you will be treated on a very good and higher quality image every time
