Laban Skeleton Rainbow fountain pen review
This PVD coated, rainbow coloured metal and plastic cartridge filling fountain pen from Laban currently costs £155 from Cult Pens (!) - I bought this fountain pen using a discount code and you can also get 10% off using my link below.
The Laban Skeleton Rainbow fountain pen is a good looking pen and the metal overlay does not rattle against the plastic at all, however I’m not convinced that it’s worth £155. Let me know what you think in the comments section below!

Hi Rob! As for the price, I'll tell you right away that you got a good deal: in Italy you spent at least 190 pounds, not 100, for a cost of around 220 euros. I understand that Laban uses JoWo nibs. Charming fountain pen but I wouldn't spend the £100 on it. If you like Skeleton models you have interesting choices with Asvine, Jinhao and now Majohn with the T6, at significantly lower prices. Asvine nibs are very performing. Very interesting ink. Thanks for everything Rob!

Hi Rob. I know there are many vintage pens with a skeletal overlay, so it's not an entirely new idea. However, I've noticed many Far Eastern manufacturers have decided to revive the design and incorporate it in their more modern pens. I don't personally own this pen, or any other skeleton designs. The price is pitched too high for the Laban, in my opinion. I see it more as a £70 to £80 pen.

I don't have a very large pen collection and am trying to keep it that way so it's safe to say I'm going to skip this one if the nib isn't anything special, but I really enjoy that finish. It's getting more common. Conklin and Monteverde have also done pens that feature the rainbow metal.
