I'm all about making a pretty quilt label. For every quilt I write a poem with the quilt's name along with my info and date made. I print it on specially made fabric for printing and add a lovely little border. I previously sewed it on by hand, but now attach it to the back before quilting. I also write my name in ink on the back binding for extra security. Sometimes I feel quilters do the minimum label wise because they're tired by that point and are excited to start the next project. But I believe you invested a lot with materials monetarily and with your time. You took the time to design, construct and quilt an item of beauty. The future recipients should know who made it. You deserve the recognition and they deserve to know the story. 🤗

2 corner triangle pockets can be used to hang the quilt for display.

Kelly I think you are an amazing quilter and I look up to you so it was interesting to hear you say that you felt intimidated by other quilters. I also love the Buffalo quilt hanging in the background. I would love to learn more about how it was pieced and then finished. And lastly, will we see you on camera again?

Kelly has changed positions within the company and is now a territory sales manager so she will not be in videos unless we have her come back as a guest. As for the Buffalo quilt, we'll have to find the information from the maker.

Very informative video. I liked all the quilts you showed with labels giving us ideas and also I can see how to apply them. Don't know how to use the printer for fabric labels though, but will google that. I really like the video on the ruler. What is very nice is how she shows us how to use it and also all the many designs for it. I think it is great to have a ruler that you can use for more than just one thing, and I think that would be the reason for my buying one. Thanks for this video, loved it very much and look forward to more with your rulers.... I have a sit down long arm and I think these can be used with that as well.... Stay safe.... Claudia

Hi Claudia Thank you so much for your kind comments. All of our rulers are High Shank. If your longarm machine uses high shank rulers, ours will certainly work.

Thanks ladies for showing us your labels, gave me some easy ideas. I've only made one label so far, and it got a little fancy with hand embroidered words and hearts, and a border around the label. Hey, it turns out those times spent in childhood learning a few stitches, like chain stitches and daisy petals, actually paid off. My embroidery looks rough but at least I got it done! One thing that made me feel clever was using a fabric with light stripes to keep my letters even, and used a disappearing ink to stitch over.

Fabric that is printed with pictures on a printer can be washed. I made a picture memory quilt for my mom and was washed in cold water without a problem

I have heard that it is best to put your label on the quilt before you quilt. That way no one can remove your label an claim it as their own. So sad to say, with the popularity of quilting, that does happen now days.

If I were writing with a Micron...I would draw lines with a Frixion pen then when it is ironed the lines go away and the information is left.

I used to use Micron Permanent Pens to write on fabric...emphasis on “used to”🥺 That is until a purple Micron bled after I hand soaked a small portion of a quilt in cold water to remove some stubborn marking lines. Mind you, this was no ordinary quilt...this was a sampler quilt I had started when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. At the time, I was the young mom of a toddler with one on the way, and I was determined to learn how to quilt. I took a class and my first ever quilting accomplishment was going to be a cherished baby blanket for my soon to arrive little bundle of joy. Unfortunately I didn’t get it finished in the allotted class time, and the borderless top got carefully folded up and packed away for a time...well, you know...for a time when the kids are older and there would be waaaay more time for sewing🙄 Fast forward 26 years and my little bundle of joy now has her own little bundle of joy🤰🏼🤱🏼🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️...! Anyway, after a mid-life relocation, I found the quilt top in a box of miscellaneous fabrics, along with a small collection of UFOs in varying stages. Completely embarrassed, I vowed to get ‘er done. I watched a ton of RU-vid videos on everything “quilty”, finally finished the borders, did all of the quilting on my domestic sewing machine, and then sewed the handwritten corner label into the binding. After all, this was my very first quilt...it had to be proper...it had to be perfect. Done! My very first quilt...yaaaaaay...(self pat on the back)! Yeup...to say that after 26 years, seeing purple ink bleeding into this finally finished and now “vintage” quilt was disheartening would be the understatement of my life. Anyway, lesson learned...swatch test, swatch test, swatch test...actually...on second thought...I think all my labels will be embroidered from now on😳

@@sharonstegeman2379 oh I hate that for you. I embroider most labels and have done a few on my Cricut.
