Lab and lib have both proved useless when it comes to housing. Lab is the only party to propose abolishing negative gearing at an election. That was 4 yrs ago and we'd all be better off with cheaper houses if they had of won and abolished negative gearing
What I.Q. level is required to understand that if you import 1,000,000 people over 18 months into an atmosphere of severe housing shortage IT WILL make matters WORSE for Australians across the board not just housing, crowded schools, hospitals, roads, etc. etc. etc. And we actually pay these people huge salaries for their INCOMPETENCE
Good old uniparty, and the civil service con job. The solution from a voter perspective is simple. Vote independent. Returning the parliament to the people and away from parties resolves the corruption we currently face.
You heard it with your own ears. All they care about is aggregate GDP. Not per capita GDP. Not social cohesion. Not your kids ever buying a house. Not your culture. Nothing. As long as “line go up”everything’s fine according to the labor plan. Pathetic
They are not clueless at all. They just don't want to admit the effect of migration on housing prices. If they did then they might be expected to do something about it.
Yes they know but don't care thousands of ordinary Australians live in cars and tents while the new arrivals thanks our homes and jobs becacse they will work for peanuts😮
Never ever heard Gallagher or Plibersek (just to name 2, there’s more) say anything positive. Always, always blaming the Opposition no matter how long they themselves have been in Government. Australian is no longer the lucky country with the moronic State and Federal politicians we have. So glad I’m closer to my demise but feel so badly for my grandchildren’s future.
Watching these Senate hearings does not fill me with confidence that the people in charge have a clue. 😳 Also Katy Gallagher, what an unpleasant mess she is. 😂
Katy Gallagher seems to have zero clues here. This is quite disturbing considering how much the housing crisis is impacting the entire country. You could potentially forgive as an oversight if they were in opposition but not for a sitting government.
Disrespectful, arrogant, un-informed. After 1 month with 9 properties acroos 10 suburns and 40 applications finally found a house. They have not idea and don't care. The citizens mean nothing at all to them.
And at the start under her breath she said "that we inherited from you" when talking about migration, clueless woman, I dont care what was in the past, you won the election on what you were going to do, not a history lesson.
Huge immigration levels have persisted under both labour and liberal governments. She is right to point this out, just as the libs were right to point it out when for the gillard/Rudd givernemnt who in turn can rightly say that about the howard government. It is good that parties are looking at reducing it and focusing on housing costs. Hopefully its bi-partisan
There should be a free to air channel broadcasting this sort of thing so the voters of the country get a better understanding of the incompetence of governments
In the next hour, 3000 Australians will reach out to homelessness services like Mission Australia for help, according to statistics gathered from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
How smug she is. No accountability. So incompetent. They run our country, but couldn't run a corner store shop. No wonder we are going down the toilet as a country. It's just a disgrace
Hey Senator Andrew Bragg at 6:47 mark of the video, Labor just said Covid 'Recession'. The words that Labor has been so scared to mutter since the 90s and a reason for the increased immigration to avoid a recession. And your question got them!
@@vtgaming9204 Yes the words they avoid saying coming out. What was going through his head for that slip up. What was the detail of what he avoided saying.
Gallagher, just delivering a contemptuous smirk and bluffing out a non answer with weasle words and name calling. The very picture of whats wrong with our country.
Gallagher is clueless, and with it 100% smug with every response that she gives. Migrants bring youth and skill, but commonly they also bring their parents, this negates any benefit of having them here.
Importing people started under Howard as a means to increase GDP, and nary a thought was given to housing the increase in population. The increasing trend continued predominantly under LNP government. Post COVID housing construction times have blown out to 18 months primarily due to shortages in skilled labour and framing timber. Sadly Bragg doesn’t appreciate his party’s role in the problem and also has trouble framing a clear question.
Labor's answer to hard questions: Peter Dutton. There is not enough housing for Australian citizens, yet Albanese is bringing in more immigrants. 500,000 into zero doesn't work.
I don't think they are all clueless, I just think they are evil and they do not care how much their policies harm people. Especially as not only do they not suffer personally but most of them actually benefit greatly as landlords and property investors
She is arrogant and doesn’t give a toss about how any of this affects the Australian people. Thank goodness she is not the pm. Its unprofessional women like her, who let us down.
"more normal levels" for what ends? what are the "normal levels" and why are they the normal levels? the keep talking skills and keep not investing in skills teaching and uptake. it's almost as if this is planned.
Perhaps it is time for the politicians who make decisions for us all were publicly skill and means tested to see how suitable they are to be making the decisions they are and also to hook them up to a lie detector every couple of weeks so we can ask them the real questions they need to answer with yes or no answers so we know what agendas these politicians are serving!!
