Daysha you were handling labor and those contractions like a G!!! FR FR! I have two kids, so I've been through labor and delivery...and the contractions are NO joke! You definitely should be proud of yourself girl. Sadly, both of my L&D (labor & delivery) experiences, as far as the staff goes, were the same...and similar to yours. I would push that call button and ask for something, but either it would take a really long time for them to come, or they would forget until I pushed it again. There would be SEVERAL nurses at the nurse station, laughing and chatting, but then when my mom would ask them for something that i needed...they would say they were busy but would get to it asap. And it would be the longest time before we saw them...or even once they came in to check me, once they left, we wouldn't see them for a while again. Lol But it's completely different the next morning/day after having the baby! Lol They start coming in the room around 5 a.m. and are in and out back to back! (All different types of people...nurses, lactation consultants, pediatricians, insurance people, etc...) Anyways, sorry for writing so much...I just understood where you were coming from and it was very frustrating. But can't wait for part 2 and to see your beautiful princess, when you are ready! 💜

I'm glad Daysha had a safe delivery. Melanated black women are dying at record numbers in these hospitals especially in labor and delivery.

Thank you for posting this experience I am currently pregnant and I understand that everyone’s experience is different but you put my mind at ease compared to others you seem relaxed so far and I’m so nervous, I was worried about not getting epidural and I feel like I can handle it now.
