Shadow Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood was quizzed by Sky News' Trevor Phillips whether the Labour party is planning an age cap of 80 for House of Lords membership.
On Labour's manifesto arrangements for the election, she outlined how the document was endorsed by "acclaim", meaning it was supported by people present through applause rather than a vote.

I cannot remember this sort of scrutiny taking place in 2019, when Johnson's primary manifesto promise, was to get brexit done. Of course we got the same nonsense about Labour increasing tax ation, but no one bothered to cost up brexit, perhaps if they had.............?

During ww2 our country was starving and had to ration, nowadays we have nearly triple the population and everything else is on its last legs, getting rid of the people that don't want to stick to their own countries from which they came, to which they are still patriotic to, isn't racist, it is common sense.

This guy is demanding labour confirm how they plan to fix the repeated mistakes of the Tories. The Tories made this issue and Trevor appears fine with trusting them to continue, rather than listen to actual plans to repair broken systems. A Tory shill, a bad interviewer and disingenuous. The final NHS question is disgusting. Politicians choosing to use the NHS over private is admirable. They're lining up with the masses and not cutting queues like Rishi et al because they feel more important than others.

Keir Starmer is running very much as a centrist. Labour base is left or left of centre, so there is no way he'd get his manifesto through a vote. Tory base is very much hugging the right wing touchline, so similar issues if they wanted to pass anything that they wanted to appeal to the centre ground (which it appears they do not).

Anything is better than conservatives even if it’s a new face of labour that looks like conservatives it’s going to only pledge on funded pledges. That means they won’t do anything daft like Lizz Truss or going through several pm’s in a few weeks. Massive improvement. Labour look weak but conservatives looked strong. Maybe people need to stop making first hand judgements and reading the full book. This interviewer trying to bring something back up from last Autumn before any general election was decided can they get people that ask relevant questions instead of 2nd rate interviewers. Conservatives done the same if I’m not mistaken? So why is it only labour being questioned about this 28billion

No, she says they will apply vat to private schools. The rate of vat will remain the same. They just intend to apply it to more people rather than providing exceptions for rich peeps.
