Oh c'monnnnn !!! This is awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I have been following Spitfire Audio for over 5 years now and I've never had the money to buy any of the instruments. But I finally finished college and have a job now. So finally Albion One here I come. Keep rolling out the free stuff though. Much love. :)
You guys are the best! Thank you for all of the pieces you've put up. I've just got a Mac and I'm "mastering" (or "guessing and hoping what sounds best") my first pieces of piano/strings. The stuff thats on GarageBand already is nice but this adds more variety.
What does Christian love to say, "In limitation lies creativity" or some such "necessity is the mother, or step mother, of invention?" some such. I can't wait to hear a score done solely with LABS. Now that would be a minimalist exercise. Thanks to all of you there, not just the faces on RU-vid, Paul, Chrisitan, Oliver and Homay, but everyone behind the scenes that made this happen as well. Bravo!
Here's a heads-up for any *existing* Spitfire customers: if you've bought (non-Labs) Spitfire libraries in the past, you may have an old version of their library/download Manager. The new Labs instruments are only compatible with the very latest version of the "Spitfire Audio App", which you can get from the FAQ section of their website. TLDR: If the Labs download link doesn't work, I'd recommend updating your Spitfire Audio App. (PS: Thank you, Spitfire team! The new Labs instruments are fantastic).
Hey guys. Hopefully this helps some of you who are having trouble on windows. I work in Ableton 9 standard and found that there IS in fact a .dll file. It is not found with the spitfire folder that gets created when you download labs, rather, it installs itself in the default folder that .dll files get sent to. If you use a custom plugin folder like me, this might be an issue for you. Just dig around in your program files for the folder that the labs .dll file is in, and copy and paste it accordingly to your custom plugin folder.
Wow the timing of this could not be more perfect for me. I’ve just started to learn to write scores and compose for strings so a decent string ensemble was right at the top of my list and BOOM this appears. So excited to use it!
Zahari Shtonov Mock all you like. But I could write a whole film score with a good piano patch with just one articulation. It’s about having enough tools to be expressive, not every option under the sun.
No worries, ChrisLody. I was clearly joking. I removed my comment so it does not aggravate you, OK? Libraries do sound great and controls are awesome. I do enjoy them too, especially the sound.
I downloaded and saved on External HD, but today unfortunately not able to install. The downloaded content I placed onto patches and presets folders where some were directly installed day before yesterday. Today it shows Error 1 in windows. Not able to relocate the files.
Hi. Just a little installer / hub (for want of a better description) feedback. With one library installed (Soft Piano) and the software active, installing another wants to open a new version of the software - can't it just bring to front the active 'hub'? Ok, I'll close the open hub... wants me to sign in again, and then it has lost previous install location and reverts to default C:... Oh and the installer makes another folder - people who are meticulous when installing might end up with a Spitfire folder in a Spitfire folder! ...well, if they were they should spot the extra folders on install! ;) Anyway, I'll go try the sounds. Thanks!
Uninstalling, it does not make it clear you are installing a VST Plugin, so mine ended up where I install programs. I uninstalled and went back to the site, it tried to nanny you along when all you need is a link. Can't be bothered sorry. Uninstalling and Unliking!
Can someone help me? It works perfectly fine, however, when I try to input a black key, it doesn't play during the song and it's very strange because I can hear it play when I press it during editing.
Anyone else having problems installing on Mac OS X High Sierra? I was able to install on my studio iMac but can't on my second iMac, which is the same model, OS, everything. Very weird. I can install the program but when i click to install piano or strings, it selects a weird install location and then i click install and nothing happens.
Hi there sorry to hear you're having trouble with the LABS library. Have you been in touch with our support team? They'll be happy to help! Here's the link: spitfireaudio.zendesk.com/
WTF? This thing doesn't work. Why can't we just download it and place in our sample folder? Why the bloody download utility? :-/ Edited: Sorry for the misunderstanding. At 1st i though this was a Kontakt instrument. Everything works now. While i do prefer Kontakt instr. and to have no download utility to deal with, at this price i can't complain. Thank you.
i realize i might come out as a jerk but i was really looking forward to this and now I've wasted my time and energy on something that actually doesn't work and I'm left with an other software installed on my pc that does god know what to my Pc that I'm not aware about... Plus i really didn't sleep much at all so I'm not in the mood at all for that today. And BTW, FU fanboy.
While I may not agree with MustacheVerra' s way of expressing his dismay, I have to admit I am very frustrated with this new system. I have spent the last 10 hours on forums with dozens of others who can't get this thing off the ground. I am a software junkie and work in the computer field and no results .I have installed uninstalled etc. Tried with Cubase ,Protools and Live. Tried in Logic on my Mac.Tried installing in default etc. Nothing. I guess to me it does not matter if it is free or if I paid 1000 dollars. I expect a reasonable and effective install. I have only had one other instance like this in the last 5 years or so. And Imake at least 5 or 6 software purchases each month. Also a little video of what kind of player I should be looking for. And the name. Anything.Since their are no dll files or other common files in the install it must be their own concoction. Guess I will never know. I am done trying to fix this mess!!!
