The journey down the Green River continues as the cliffs grow larger and the country rougher. So too does the weather worsen bringing storms and howling winds. Yet amongst the hardships are discoveries of historical sites and an abandoned mining operation.

Greetings Lee, Glad your liking the films. We probably won't be back in Australia for a while long enough to do any major trips as we can't bring the little dog over. What type of vehicle do you have for expeditions? I can't make it out on your little channel thumbnail.

Love the name of Cricket's friend. Where did that (name) come from?. "On the search for Sago" ?? !! Whatever would you want with Sago?. A real shame about the seagull droppings. Maybe they could train a bunch as rangers; to take the 'artists' a very long way out to sea; and drop them off to vandalise the very large ferocious shark-infested waves. Oh no! I've been politically ink korrekt agin. As Cricket (sorry wrong spellings) would say; GRRRR!!!! The colors (for you Summer :) ) textures lighting and downright awesomeness of these places, truly humbling. Thanks guys, as always a wonderful learning experience as you take us along on your great real-earth sojourns. Take care.

We did hope to go the professional route early in our hobbyist career but I reckon I've got too old and ugly now and we're both a little gun-shy of too much public exposure so it's now unlikely to happen. It's oddly quite pleasant to be a small and hard to find channel. Glad you like the films, we're working on the next. Cheers.

So beautiful - thanks again for sharing your adventure and storytelling. It is so sad about the mindless graffiti. Curious about your seats and how you load your canoe. I’ve yet to do a 6-7 day paddling trip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated please. I also wasn’t sure how you dehydrated your suppers too. Is that easy. Best wishes from north of the 49. Ian
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures 4 года назад
Greetings there Ian. Wilms may have to add to this response, she bought a thing called a food dehydrator, a roundish little machine with a fan in it. So you lay out the stuff and let it do it's work. She then vacuum seals the results into bags. Loading the canoe is experimental, even with experience. A solo canoeist will want weight up front to keep the nose down, where we need it in the middle. Loose food and water bags are shifted about to balance out the side listing which constantly changes as supplies are depleted, for example if you have two 20L water containers side by side and don't use them both alternatively, there will be a significant weight imbalance as one is still full whilst the other is not. Wilms uses a seat that straps to the existing bench but I just use what's there finding that the seat back gets in my way being the rudder man. Wilms has been threatening to do a video on the food stuff so this might be a good incentive to get it happening.

Foreman and Wilms Adventures. Good evening Foreman, and thank you so much for the prompt and insightful reply. I’d not heard of a food dehydrator before and can see how this would be a useful pre-trip kitchen tool, to help get organized, and make sure camp suppers are tops. The advice about loading and balance of the boat is much appreciated too. I’d bought a prospector type of Canadian canoe with the hopes of paddling rivers like the Churchill, and would imagine this is something I’d do with another paddler. Trial and error will have us organized for sure 😂. Well, I look forward to more of your edited highlights and adventures, and any on food stuff from Wilms and Krikkit (as well as your Land Rover) will also be fun for sure. Thank you again and all the very best to you. Ian

Enjoying your videos. Loved your rant on the good paved roads and air conditioned vehicles allowing the lesser man to defile these sacred places. Amen to that. What make is your Old Town? is it a Discovery or a Tripper? Great boat. And you two love what you do. So enjoyable to watch you, and Cricket.

Greetings Baroose. Glad you liked the film, If I recall correctly the boat is a tripper, 17.4 footer. Tough as nails, we did a river trip up in Maine called the Allagash and most of the time was spent smashing into rocks. The thing still floats! Amazing.
@baroose67
@baroose67 4 года назад
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures Hello and thanks for your reply. I thought it looked like a Tripper 174. Best canoe ever built, unless you like the bigger Tripper XL which is almost 21 feet. They are fairly indestructible and you can fix them for really cheap really easy if you damage them really bad. The Allagash is a great trip. I worked on the St. Croic River, just a little ways away from the Allagash looking after it for a couple of decades. We used the Trippers and had a Tripper XL as well. We often needed the bigger boat for all the gear we needed for some of our projects. If you liked the Allagash you would definitely love the St. Croix. They don't make the Trippers anymore, which is a sad thing. I love them. I have a Discovery 169. 5 inches shorter and a wee bit narrower. Goes quick but you can't pack as much in it. Hopefully you get to do the St. Croix sometime. You can get waterproof maps from www.stcroix.org made specifically for paddling. Around $10 I think. I retired from there last year. Do you have video of your trip on the Allagash? And how many Moose and Loons did you see? Great to hear from you. I hope we can keep in touch.

Wilms makes her own biltong, mixes up her secret concoction of spices and she bought a little kit that dries the stuff. She does a good job that even a South African would applaud her.

How do you keep your batteries charged for all those shots and drone footage for eight days!!? Beautiful!!
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures 3 года назад
Greetings Glenn, we have a thing called a 'Goal Zero Yeti 400', It's about as heavy as a car battery and if one is especially conservative with the drone it has kept everything charged for 13 days in the past. It makes good ballast in the canoe but can be quite a problem with portages. It also serves as our second battery in the car for keeping things running and can be charged with AC ,DC and solar.

@summerwilms9943
@summerwilms9943 4 года назад
Yeah...🤔 maybe we should have explained that. Biltong is a South African style of cured, dried meat. It’s often spiced with coriander and pepper or peri-peri. It’s not as dry as jerky. Mr. Foreman and I became familiar with it during our African years. It became such a staple in our diet that when we left the continent I had no choice but to learn how to make it myself. If you’re an enthusiastic carnivore, it is definitely worth seeking some out for a taste.
