I saw Sir Didymus today at The Center for Puppetry Arts. It was kind of sad seeing these characters behind glass cases in a museum after seeing them in this movie. They seem so alive and real in the movie.: ) Sir Didymus was one of my favorites.
The Hoggle (the moody troll sidekick to Sarah) puppet was lost in luggage for years and ended up getting destroyed. Google it, you will never be the same. It’s sad and rather creepy.

Gotta love how both Ludo and Didymus are such polar opposites Ludo looks ferocious but acts adorable, while Didymus looks adorable but acts ferocious. In conclusion....they're both adorable XD
This is the moment Sarah finally learned not to take things for granted in the Labyrinth. She didn't take it for granted that his permission would be refused, so she asked him for permission. Sure enough, it wasn't, and that's all they head to do to pass. It took several setbacks from doing it regarding things she met in the Labyrinth (The worm, the riddle guards, the door knockers, the wise man), and a few from taking it for granted she could overcome everything and she absolutely would succeed('Piece of cake' moments), but this is when she finally learned to question everything presented to her, even her own capabilities, and started making real progress through the Labyrinth instead of going about in circles and falling for it's tricks.
Sir Didymus is frickin AWESOME dude lol Brave, fearless and funny as all get out “I can conquer this mountain” 😂 Man Sir Didymus should’ve had his own show
Ok I know in the grand scheme of things, Sarah didn’t win over that many citizens of the Labyrinth and Jareth’s army still fought against her, but the fact that many of them are so easily swayed into helping her makes me think that he was one Labyrinth runner away from a rebellion. This scene and the end scene where a bunch of the creatures who didn’t help her at first are all partying in her bedroom kinda prove that.
Jareth's rule is less like that of a king over a country and more like that of a gang leader over a gang. Good Governance is a thing of the ancient past in the Labyrinth because the goblins are both insane and stupid collectively... that's why they need an outsider like Jareth to rule them, and they know this full well. Which is why they never rise against Jareth. A), they're all afraid of him because he is literally GOD in the Labyrinth, B) he is not a good ruler, but he is a better ruler than any goblin will ever come anything close to being. C), they CHOSE Jareth to lead them. Jareth is a changeling, he was stolen as a child, not a goblin. He's even still king of the Labyrinth at the end, he was never challenged, let alone overthrown. The goblins WANT him in charge. They have to have a king to maintain the Labyrinth, and that king absolutely, under no circumstances, can be a goblin, or other natural denizen of the Labyrinth, or there will be no rule, only madness and chaos. However, while that king has absolute control of the Labyrinth, he has... about zero control over any goblin he isn't in the direct presence of.
Imagine if Jim Henson was still alive, all the great movies he would’ve made! I bet he would’ve made some cool creatures for the MCU, especially for the guardians of the galaxy

Oh my god, I have a 14 week old Shih Tzu named Freya and she is a little psycho with sharp teeth. And does the opposite of everything I tell her to. I try to get her to walk on a leash and she throws herself to the floor and won’t move. I could use her as a mop.
My theory is that hes lost his sense of smell after living here for however long, or at the least is so numb to it that he doesn't recognize the stench anymore. This guy does have a bit of a Don Quixote thing going on, I'm sure hes just delusion enough that he is convinced it smells nice when he literally can't smell anything. Which might be funnier
My favorite scene in Labyrinth is when Didymus has a stand off with the goblins. He charges into the goblins and knocks a goblin off his horse. He laughs saying tallyho ha ha. Then faceplant, into the bridge. Laugh everytime.
This whole fight scene is pretty much me when my kitten gets in her aggressive mood to play fight right down to pushing her away and she bounding right back more aggressive than ever
Ronnie "the Limo Driver" Mund from Howard Stern always reminds me of Sir Didymus for some reason. They're both short, have mustaches, are convinced they're "guards," and have barks that are much bigger than their bites.
Their similar stories kinda.. but VERY different movies in reality. Pans Labyrinth is a VERY good movie your missing out on, although very dark thematically... I mean it has a guy stabbing the eyes out of another man with an empty milk bottle in one scene... so yeah, not something you'd let the kids watch.
There you have it, should you start a fight with a much bigger guy and it gets to a point where the big guy is mad and gaining momentum, call for a stop and declare yourselves brothers...might work.
