David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly invite you into a magical universe where nothing is what it seems! Babysitting infant stepbrother Toby on a weekend night isn't young Sarah's (Connelly) idea of fun. Frustrated by his crying, she secretly imagines the Goblins from her favorite book, LABYRINTH, carrying Toby away. When her fantasy comes true, a distraught Sarah must enter a maze of illusion to bring Toby back from a kingdom inhabited by mystical creatures and governed by the wicked Goblin King (Bowie).

Well, an idea I had for the sequel in the 90s showed Jareth's uncle Amil (Alan Rickman) re-affirming this by explaining: The fourth fundamental law of magic clause 2 paragraph 14 section 9 sub-section 2 states that in the event that a person has made a wish for something, then the closest magical being to the wisher must Grant their wish forthwith and to the letter, regardless of if they actually meant it or even if they were conscious and/or inebriated. However, if they are able to prove within 13 hours that they did not desire this wish, then it will be rescinded immediately.

Yup. Apparently David Bowie had an injury when he was young that made one of his eyes permanently dilated.
