The power of another human being explaining something you read... Understood in 6 minutes something that i've been reading about for hours.. Thanks a lot mate!
Hello Sir..Many thanks for this presentation... Appreciate your efforts.. I have a doubt.. At 2:05 , you have mentioned that the oil mist inside the bearing compartment cannot go past the labyrinth seal because of the low pressure inside the compartment caused by the pressurised airflow going inside through the labyrinth seal knife edges .... Is it technically okay to say that, "the oil mist cannot go outside through the labyrinth seal knife edges due to the continuous supply of pressurised air coming across the knife edges"... I'm taking the reference of the general property of a fluid where the flow of fluid in a particular direction is prevented in the presence of another opposing pressurised fluid flow...Can we omit that pressure differential phenomenon while explaining the oil sealing capability by only using the above mentioned property of fluid...Is it technically correct? Kindly pardon me for any mistake in my question. Thank you Sir!
@hari-rx3sh Yes you can say that "the oil mist cannot go outside through the labyrinth seal knife edges due to the continuous supply of pressurised air coming across the knife edges". The reason the air is flowing in that direction is because of the pressure differential..
