Choirs get the glory. Soprano is a type of singing voice like all the others. The beauty of Lacrimosa is due to the union of all 4 types of singing voices. I wouldn't attend to any concert if only sopranos were to sing Lacrimosa.

It’s interesting because the bass and tenor by themselves don’t even sound that dark. Their melodies by themselves sound like it could be in a popular 50’s song
