Do you have a link for the battery socks? I have the same boots and they are great. Maybe you can do a review of the 1800 gram version? I am thinking about getting those if they would be substantially warmer, but I’m hearing mixed reviews on the added warmth.

I just added the socks to the first boot review video. There are higher rated socks out there, so mine are just one option. But they’ve worked well.

The EV2 camo on my 800 Lacrosse alpha’s wore off the toe However this did not happen to my 1600’s. Possibly because the 800s are worn more often than the 1600s I wear later in the season
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Месяц назад
Likely. Are the 1600 warm? Are they much heavier?
@jayonez137
@jayonez137 Месяц назад
@@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 The 1600s are very warm. I wear them in when temps dip below 32. I have stayed warm in them on an all day sit well below -0° Without an issue. Of course they are a little bit heavier. I think the alpha Burleys are heavy all together regardless if you have 1600s or 800s or the uninsulated version. I own all 3 versions of the alpha burly and I think they’re all heavy compared to my woody max muck boots.

I noticed after my first hunting trip, once I tried wiping them off after taking them off I noticed the pattern starting to wear off, so the bonding of the pattern to the rubber boot doesn't appear to be that well, other than the pattern wearing, mine worked well, I have the 1600G version, I live in Wisconsin, and was hunting in Buffalo County, got quite cold out there like 25 degrees , the boots coupled with Smart wool calf high, hunting sockss kept my feet warm no problems. I also had the same as you, the fanatic gear, only problem I noticed with it, was when it began to snow heavy wet snow, the fanatic got quite wet after a while, and the fanatic gloves got quite soaked as well., but I still stayed warm, other than my hands, but I headed in, to avoid being soaked by the time I got out.

The pattern on the boots only seems to be wearing at the tip of the toe only. What about yours? Smart wool clay high socks, hmm. I’ve had my Sitka in heavy snow too and I stayed nice and warm too. It did get quite wet but didn’t seem to penetrate. Thanks for the comment!

@@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 sorry if I didn’t reply to your question, but yeah I noticed when I went to clean them, the pattern on the boots did also wipe off on the other parts as well, it’s just more noticeable on the tips, since they usually get scuffed, and bumped more first . It’s not real bad, they just don’t look brand new, the integrity of the boot itself is fine, but the pattern on the boots will likely wear away gradually overtime. They just need a better bonding application, but getting that pattern to bond better to that material will require something different from the manufacture
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Год назад
@@TiffanyBottomsHunter No worries.Thanks for the reply. It’s unfortunate that the pattern on the boots doesn’t hold up. I’d imagine Lacrosse rushed them to market to take advantage of the growing demand for Sitka-related gear. They should strongly consider how this may affect their reputation.

These are great boots. I’m afflicted with cold feet. Like yourself, I use heated socks, but I also put on liner socks. They work the best I’ve found for myself. The wearing of the camo at the toes don’t bother me in the least. I didn’t realize they folded down as easy as my mucks. This was helpful to learn. Thanks for your reviews. I’ve watched a few. Always helpful.

Why not wear your bibs tucked in all the time? They look better this way too. Also, I wouldn't use any chemical or electrical warmers, I use footwraps that don't just keep my feet warm but solve any fitment issues as well. Yes, I know, they're not as quick to put on as socks, but at least you never have to worry about your batteries running out or chemicals burning your skin. Overall, I'm glad you decided to keep these boots because while they may not be as warm as you had hoped, they do look hot on you.
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Год назад
Honestly, it’s just easier to wear the bibs outside the boot. And on cold days I appreciate the insulation covering my entire leg. When tucked in they don’t go all the way down to my ankle. I’ve never heard of foot wraps. I’ll have to google them. I’m always open to new ideas when it comes to keeping my feet warm. It’s my biggest issue right now. Thanks for the great comment! Hope your season is going well!

They’re getting more expensive and every pair of lacrosses I’ve owned leaked on the front of the ankle after a year. Sadly, they’re probably the best out there. Rubber boots are the only boots I’ve used for the last 30 years of hunting.

Awesome review. I love mine. They are a heavier boot so hiking any distance to a stand is not ideal. With that they are warm, comfortable, and perform well.

Do you think the color coming off the toes could be wear and tear from your climber stand?
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Год назад
Great question! But I don’t believe the climber is the culprit as it seems to be a common issue with these particular boots with this pattern (from reviews I’ve read). And it’s worn evenly across the toe alone. If it were the climber I would think there would be more wear on the upper foot portion.

Great post,was wondering if these boots are warm enough for stand hunting in 30°f and lower? I currently use a two different boot system for deer hunting....I use a pair of Cabela's "Outfitter" leather with Bob sole boots for warmer hunts and spring gobbler season say 50°F to 30°F and for deer hunting if it's warmer or if I still / stalk hunt. If I sit on a stand and it's 32°f or lower I use Sorel pac boots, a good poly propylene sock liner with wool/ polypropylene mix socks.
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Год назад
Thanks for the comment! The 800g boots alone will not be enough in sub freezing temps. Even with heated socks and chemical toe warmers I seem to have about two hours max before the chill starts to creep in. At the three hour mark it becomes a huge distraction, almost unbearable. I really need something to block the wind, but hard to do at 25 feet off the ground! Sitka boot covers would be a godsend, if they existed…

Can you were those in the spring or will it be too hot?
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404
@northofdetroitoutdoors7404 Год назад
Yes, I wear them in the spring when conditions are wet, because I can tuck my pants into the boots as shown in the video, otherwise I wear my leather boots. But my feet don’t sweat a lot so I can get away with it. May not be comfortable enough for everybody tho. Thanks for watching!
