If you get a bucket full of Comet cleaner (the powder, not the liquid) and water. soak the balls and scrub them a little with a wash cloth it resurfaces them pretty well.
Use a tennis ball tube and leave some space so the ball can actually move around and get some speed so just put in a sheet of sandpaper.. And boom 2-5 mins you can have 2 balls done at once.
Seriously, you should patent this. I know I would definitely buy it and any lacrosse player who would stumble upon this would be of course skeptical at first, but once the word got out, this thing would be everywhere.
This is a really awesome idea. I used to just soak the greaser balls in hot water and then use a rough dish scrubber with dish soap, and that took about 30 seconds per ball to make them like-new, but holy crap my hands would cramp after the first dozen or so. This seems so much easier
I think you're right, and I thought that too. I tried it on my tennis ball can version...but I didn't notice a difference, but I bet it is sliding through better.
you know what else works kind of, and is amazing is snow, just leaving it in snow it will absorb the water and clean itself and become sticky and gripy again. i live in illinois and every winter my ball always flys into the snow after playing wall ball and i started to notice it after awhile
For a tri color fade if you want red white and blue you stick a third of the head at the top or bottom and leave it till your happy with the color and the you stick another third opposite from the red, in blue and then you'll have a fade oh and also fade the colors into the white
I have made both quite a few times, and the PVC is actually far better for me, because it's sturdy. Pringles cans don't last long, even when reinforced.
You don't need to buy new materials for every ball...you buy them once. If you're a kid, and need a ball, yeah, go buy a new one. If you're a coach, and you need 60, it kind of sucks always having to buy new ones.
Great invention, but you can only do this for about a year. I know that my coach usues sandpaper to re-surface balls but he says only for one year or else the size of the ball starts to get smaller and smaller making it bad to use if you have all different kinds of sized balls
Hey, i play Inline hockey (roller hockey) and when the wheels got a little dusty or hard, i whipe some Rubbing Alcohol on it to make them more grippy and it works amazing!! try it before or after you put it in your sand paper tube thing. Tell me how it works out!!! *great idea btw
You can fit 3 balls in it, but yeah, it's a lot of work. This is kind of for the kid who only has one or two balls, and not a lot of money to buy more.
