The patient was deemed too heavy for the standard ambulance and gurney, so the specially equipped bariatric ambulance and additional manpower was requested.

Grandview Heights is department 50, Clinton Township is Department 60, all the way around Franklin County to Prairie Township (Department 240). Mifflin township is Department 130, with Stations 131-134.

The department or company requesting the MSU is responsible for providing any personnel and equipment needed for patient care on scene and while en route to the hospital. In this incident, L131 was first responder for M133. The ladder arrived on scene, determined the bariatric response was appropriate, and began patient care while the medic arrived and additional units were dispatched. Engine 133 and R134 responded for manpower/equipment to assist in lifting and moving the patient, CFD was requested to provide the MSU, and the Battalion to coordinate/command the scene.
