Ladders are important tools in cleaning and maintaining every facility, but they can also be dangerous when used improperly. One of the most important safety tips for ladders is using the 3-point-of-contact climbing method. A climber should always have three points of contact on the ladder: one hand and two feet or two hands and one foot.
This will help reduce the likelihood of the climber becoming unstable if one of their limbs slips while climbing.
You should never climb with anything in your hands so you can keep a firm grip on the ladder. Use a tool belt, towlines, or an assistant to convey tools to the top of the ladder with you safely.
