At the end of the day he is our QB. So I want him to have a great season. If he can continue making throws like the one he made to Slayton last week, and get those more consistently, then we can have a decent season. We're not making the playoffs, but lets see improvement from last year. If we can get to at least 8 wins Id be happy with that. Which would then set us up to have an even better year next year. Lets go Big Blue!!!
You can tell when people ask questions, those who know football and those who don’t.. you can tell in the questions they ask. I’m still a DJ fan so hopefully he has a good year to keep his job.
I'm a 68 yr old Giants fan and Boomer nailed it. Simms and Eli took a ton of shit from fans and the media. There were times they were awful and deserved it, but both fought through the bad times to bounce back and prove they had what it takes. If he stays healthy, I think DJ has what it takes to do the same. But it takes a team, and both Phil and Eli got tremendous support from some great players and coaches. Hopefully we see overall improvement on both sides of the ball this year. Rooting big time for Daniel! Go Gmen!
This guy is terrible & we will see that week 1 vs Minnesota. He has to win that first game. There home , they have weapons now & a better O-Line. Knowing this guy the Giants will score 1 TD which will come in the second QT of week 1 & in the second half The Giants will score 6 points on 2 FGs & they will lose 31-13. Jones will be pedestrian at best
dont know about throwing ability, running ability, being able to staying on field etc etc etc but this guy definitely have the mentality to play in ny market
Nah bro these fans want the odell mentality...super emotional...hitting nets...throwing helmets...crying on the sidelines getting into all out brawls on the field...oh thats right they talked shit about him too
@@PatriotsAndTruth definitely NOT easy playing in NY market if you don't have the buildup. seen many great athletes come to NY and fall apart. If that's irrelevant, then you aren't from NY city. if you aren't from ny city area, then your comments are truly irrelevant.
@@powerbook76 what an asinine comment. You think NY is the only “big” or “tough” market. That only a New Yorker has the ability to comprehend the qualities that makes an athlete tough to play in big markets? I mean wow you must really love your self. That being said, I’m referring to the productivity on the field. 99% of Nee Yorkers and giants fans want a guy who is going to play well and win. NO ONE cares about his ability to handle the media after mediocre and terrible play for basically 6 years. Your idea of being good for the NY market would apply if someone was good, then plays bad, takes the heat and pressure and then plays good again and doesn’t crumble. But 6 years of horrible play with a smile and taking 140 million dollars really is much to praise…. And for the record I was born in Canarsie Brooklyn, raised in Staten Island and now I live in Woodbridge, NJ. Ignorance
Great, positive interview. Boomer was a quarterback and can completely relate to Daniel. Yes we all know Daniel needs to improve, but he has a great attitude. He is not cocky, how people feel about him. It is not easy to play in the New York market, let’s go Giants!
That’s my Quarterback!!! Don’t understand how anyone can hate on him!! Just protect him by giving him a clean pocket and hopefully he stays healthy and we will be good.
Tf you talking about hating 🤣 we have this quarterback for f****** 6 years still the same trash quarterback throwing int can't bady throw to his WRa stand down one WE receiver can't read defenses don't give the ball off fast enough
@@timjim3534man this guy Tommy just piss me off sometl just fans oljust dumb we hating like didn't this guy see how Jones played against the texans same Old times trash quarterback Sam Johnson got to get over it he just not the guy he's trash turn to move on nothing but the bootleg version of Eli🤣 and I know you some Danny Danny dimes lover fans same but he's a nice guy he's a nice person etc an emotion for him doesn't change the fact that he's trash
We need Dan to get like 17+points a game. Would like more since I am a Giants fan. I know you can do it!!!!! 😌 I am hyped about the kick off returns so think of all those extra points anyways have a nice day!
As a Giants fan I actually feel pretty good. This season is jones last chance. If he fails even behind a solid line and with receivers he’s gone, but I’m curious to see how he does with actual pocket protection and guys who can catch the ball. Cautiously optimistic
@@timjim3534 he started off the game with a few bonehead plays. However he had some nice throws subsequently and Runyan wasn’t even playing…I would imagine he will provide even more protection.
@@mattg7271 with out Runyan the line was still good.... And he only did ok when the 2nd and 3rd strings came in.... That's not gonna help us in the regular season when we going against everyone's starters
@@fredprincipe6418 these guys aren’t real men in the studio they talk big 💩 about him. They call him a bum, trash etc. but when he’s sitting right there where’s that energy 🤦🏾♂️
@@fredprincipe6418they asked the tough questions what are you talking about? The ints, the injuries, giants looking for a new qb, even saquan. What did they leave out?
Glad they asked about knowing more about him. I feel like after Eli Jones is just like a blank slate. Even this far into his career it feels like hes walking on eggshells or has never loosened up and been however he may really be.
Guy hasn’t thrown the ball since November 2023, not defending this guy but let’s look at the facts. He’s never had a good O-Line and never had an Alpha at receiver since he’s been drafted. This is the year to give your definitive opinion of what this guy really is.
Daniel just has to block out the noise and just play if the wins start to come then the fans will love him that's what this is about winning. new yorkers will love you when they see that and i don't like when these old heads go on TV and put pressure on these kids by comparing them to past QBs. Daniel could never be Eli he could only create his own legacy.
Gio can't even look him in the face while he's asking the questions. Easy to rip someone when he's not there . But good interview. At the end of the day.. we all know the saying.. "it's a business"
Another team is gonna give DJ a shot to start in 2025 because he's gonna have no choice but to sign a 1 year, prove it deal for cheap. By 2026 & beyond, he'll officially become part of the rotation of backups that get recycled every year until they retire.
I want to root for him I really do, I hope he turns it around but I’ve been saying that for years 😔 but there has been glimpses of his potential but it never stays consistent.
He finally has a receiver and a decent Offensive Line, only took 5 years. Let’s see what he’s got with his back against the wall. Casuals.. let’s get to week 1 before we make a decision. 2022 stats matched Jalen Hurts, 2023 Worst QB in the league with 85 Sacks. Do or Die for Daniel this year, no excuses. Everything will be answered very soon#NYG4LIFE
I dont care what makes him happier, proving people right vs proving people wrong. How about throw less picks than you have, fumble less than you have, throw it to open guys more, tuck and run when you can, and learn to slide so you can maybe stay healthy. If not, I'll take my chances with Tommy Devito
1.55 the maintenance guy racheting away in the background looks like the little man on Danny's shoulder... Attempting to 'ratchet' up his performance levels😜
I’m not like the fake fans that act like giants fans and talk crap about the players I do believe in the guys especially Jones and everything he’s been through in career we just have to many garbage so called fans anymore not like old days
I hope this Giants defense gels & the Oline & offensive weapons play out of their minds to help Jones with a breakthrough year. He’s shown that he is capable in his rookie year & 2022. We have an improved Oline & a top receiver in Nabers joining steady Slayton & exciting young receivers WanDale & Hyatt along with new rookie weapons like Theo Johnson & Tyrone Tracy Jr. Jones knows it hinges on his performance & his starting job & Giants future are on the line. Most sports journalists & NFL experts have predicted last place & 4 wins for Big Blur. ESPN just ranked the NFL team’s position groups & the Giants positional groups were often last or at the bottom making them the worst overall in the NFL at 32. It’s an indictment of GM Joe Schoen & Head Coach Brian Daboll. They’re basically implying Schoen has done little to nothing to improve the Giants roster & Daboll hasn’t helped develop this team. If anything 4 wins implies this team is getting worse! Maybe they will suck & there will be yet another new GM & new Head Coach drafting a new rookie QB in 2025 thereby initiating another rebuild. I thought we couldn’t get any worse but apparently I was wrong. Maybe Jones has a breakout year with his tight knit supporting Big Blue cast making all the extensive haters & doubters eat crow.
He was really ready to get out of there, lol! You can see his focus was not there as he kept looking at the papers about to blow away while they were questioning him.
I have liked Jones since the 2019 scouting process. I told my son I'd love to have him and when we took him at #6 I was surprised, but really happy to see that GM-Dave Gettleman had a conviction and thought that highly of Jones. Gettleman was better than these harsh NY fans give him credit for;; Barkley is still considered to be a top commodity, LT-Andrew Thomas is an all pro level player, WR-Slayton was a good pick for round 5......etc.. Jones has not had a #1 WR or even a solid #2guy or a top level TE to throw to. The offensive line has been the worst in the league for 12 years with all sorts of resources thrown at the unit with nothing to show for it. It ruined the end of Eli's career: not to mention poor Brandon Jacobs, who just got trapped in the backfield continually his last couple of years in NY. Even with a guy like Thomas, he is just one out of five, of course. Somebody different screws up on every play. High draft picks come in and forget how to walk and chew gum. It's been uncanny. It's been horrible. It's tough to play a team sport when you haven't got much of a team. I am hoping that the line is fixed and that our young receivers stay healthy and shine, I have faith in the RBs and TEs to do their jobs better than Barkley and Waller did and that Jones finally puts up pro bowl worthy numbers and shows that his contract is a bargain. People seem to misunderstand the thinking around possibly taking a QB this past spring. It is about maximizing the value of the pick. If you can go all in on a trade that would give you a young talented guy to build with on a rookie contract it's a real win. Regardless of what DJ does, but also considering his injuries, it would've been a good move if they had a conviction & a deal. They hope to never be picking that high again and it likely would've bought the coaches and GM more time. It was not a slap in the face to DJ. Any good staff looks at all available players and possibilities to improve and they will make the smartest moves they can concerning the salary cap. Too often NY fans assume that interest in one player means doom for another. Too often NY fans aren't as smart as they think they are and they demand too much instead of actually having fun rooting for the team. If DJ screws up it's "See.... I told ya. Put DeVito in!!" ..... I hope Daniel Jones finally earns respect and wins everyone over. It won't be for a lack of trying.
Daniel Jones was 2/6 for 14yrds 0TD/ 2INT when targeting the Texans starting DBs 74 of Daniel Jones 138yrds were targeting 3rd string CB Mike Ford who was undrafted in 2018 25 of his 138yrds were targeting 3rd string CB Kris Boyd a 7th rd draft pick from 2019 Everything else was a check down 99 of his 138yrds were against two Cornerbacks who have a combined 4 games started in the last 3 seasons It's just the preseason but.... that's the data @awthentik X
He will be good he just has issues cause he never had real talent round him before and had a terrible terrible line last year which caused his injuries to begin with and coming back from all that is mental games guys never forget that so playing game speed and he was obviously getting better as game went on so I’m sure he’ll be good very soon for season and ready to jam it into haters faces like Eli did in his career I know what he’s capable of after 2022 with nothing but practice squad guys as receivers and half a good line so once caught up on game speed watch
He knows they shit on him all the time and they’re asking/telling him how to act and what he does wrong. Why the hell would you then turn around and give them a good interview. You can see as it ends he goes to walk off and half hearted twists back to shake Boomers hand that was extended. He wanted to finish that interview up ASAP. Imagine that was you in his seat, you’d do the same thing. Why help them get more clicks after they just shit on you for 14 of the 16mins 😂
I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE this: Daniel Jones wins Comeback Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, League MVP, and Super Bowl MVP Season stats include; 6200 yards passing, 69 TDs, 1 INTs, 145.0 passer rating, 1500 yards rushing, 40 rushing TDs. Super Bowl stats include; 590 yards passing, 8 TDs, 0 INTs, 40/40 with a 158.3 passer rating, 250 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs.
@@cooldude7821EVERY Giants fan would love that, shut up! It ain't happening, but the conversation would be over, wouldn't it. So take your meds and shove them.
I'm fine with the 1 int,.... the pick 6 was fing terrible.. Taking the shots down the field is the only way DJ will redeem himself... Playing check down ball is why I can't stand Jones... He better swing big or get out of NY.
Looks like the Giants have as close to a true Appalachian type Hillbilly as starting quarterback! They has Simms and Eli I the past, but they weren’t hillbillies behind their accents! This guy just fits the bill, pun intended. 😂😂😂😂
Stupid questions. Ask him why he doesn't throw the ball on time. Ask him why he constantly makes it obvious what hes doing against the defense. Ask him why hes making Rookie mistakes in year 6. Ask him why he still cant slide. Ask him why he doesn't go through his progressions consistently. Ask him why he barely makes adjustments at the line.
Giants fans would rather lose with this bum then win with someone else & that is unbelievable to me. This is year 6 people so I can’t listen to anymore excuses. Jones has to go out there and put it on Minnesota & not be timid & skittish. Nabers has to be involved in so much of this offense.
