Sidney Poitier and Judy Geeson on this great dance sequence from James Clavell's 'To Sir, With Love', 1967. Musics are: The Mindbenders - It's Getting Harder All The Time and Lulu - To Sir With Love.
During a time of heavy racism, war, and political chaos, this movie came at the right time---with the message of love and peace. One of my all time favorites. RIP Sir.
Rest in peace Sidney Poitier. Yours was a life well lived. Your roles in cinema were always dignified intelligent men. Thank you for all the lessons you taught us in your personal and professional life. Rest well.
The youth of today will lead Scotland to independence and EU membership. Thank you Sindey and Lulu and the screenwriters for pointing out the state of education in the 60s London. Scotland has come a long way since then. Everybody's got to move on. Scotland's future is with the EU.
No matter how many times I watch thus movie I cry, because of the students loving him and how he saw what they needed to learn and helped them all. A GREAT MOVIE ALWAYS.
This scene still gets to me today as it did in '67. Later, when "Sir" tears up his walking papers, that was the final blow to my composure. THAT was a movie scene to remember.
My brother who is no longer with us took me to see this in 1967. I was in tears and awe afterwards. It was and is one of the best movies ever and it's message is timeless and priceless. God loves all no matter color or background or economic status. Thanks to all who made it such a wonderful statement during such a hectic time..
Who could have thought that in those day one man had the courage to take a black man in for this role in To Sir with love?? He couldnot have chosen a better one. He picked the best. I learned of this just as much of maybe even more than those students. Thk you Sidney for what you gave us. May you walk with even more grace into The Lord His loving arms
