Some animation of the beaver was actually reused for Gopher in "Honey Tree". Specifically, the shots where Gopher suggests using dynamite and talking about the charge, thinking Owl was asking how much dynamite.
I can’t never do a whistle with my Teeth like my Uncles do but whenever I say something with an Ssss Pronounciation the Whistle sometimes slips out when I least expect it lol
Tramp: "What you need is a log puller." Beaver: (continues gnawing away at the log). Tramp: (shouts) "I SAID A LOOOOOG PULLERRRRRRR!!!" Beaver: (holds his head, annoyed) "I ain't deaf, sonny! There's no need to,...did you say log puller?"
I wonder if the running gag of Tommy's yelling in Mo Willems's "The Off-Beats" segments was partly inspired by 0:59? (All that's missing is the words "I SAID A LOG PULLER" visually flying out of Tramp's mouth and then everyone blinking in a startled fashion afterward.)
Watching the beaver talk and whistle,in his voice was funny,I played the video I had one year by dad and my bros are laughing at the beaver talking, impersating him, even h my bro Greg’s son ,he was laughing,he was only eight, then.
Not a lisp, a "whistling ess", among Americans probably the most common speech impediment. Couldn't possibly poke fun at any disability in today's politically correct world.
Gopher!? What are you doing here disguised as a beaver? Go back to the Hundred Acre Woods and reunite with Winnie The Pooh Christopher Robin and the others
Indeed. As you are probably aware, Gopher was "not in the book, ya know", they just wanted to add a character to appeal to American audiences unfamiliar with A.A. Milne's Pooh stories. So they basically just added a character who was a pastiche of this beaver character.
