The jutxaposition of the sad dog pound scene with the reality of a bunch of guys on mics howling to a conductor's cue is absolutely hilarious. I feel awful 😅
If it makes you feel better, the dogs were singing the sad song to cover up another dog digging an escape tunnel. And Peg was asleep during the whole song
@@PYN111 Yeah, you can watch the entire behind the scenes special I got the footage from here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c6xG6BPQR44.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zxAmSTRnLQk.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K-U6RV-EgHM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jiU7C7EJYXQ.html
To me the better part is how Oliver Wallace keeps a straight face the entire time, but then at the end instead of laughing he just collapses like "I'm done."
When the dog pound scene showed I was expecting the background score to the scene. The guys howling and the dramatic conductor waving his arms around made it hilarious!
I remember watching a documentary back in the 90’s and had seen that sequence with the actors howling that depressing song and had been looking for it, I am so glad I got see it again! It’s such a contradictory scene, it is so depressing but seeing them perform is so hilarious!
I don’t care what haters will say to me, the original Lady and the Tramp has for more magic, love, heart and class then the live action EVER will. I don’t care if they say the original is racist, Peggy Lee and all the cast and creators made this movie a legend and the songs are far more memorable and enjoyable then the live action!
@@zakurowolfalphasilverwolf Don't worry about the woke moralists, they have ulterior motives at heart and are trying to divide people whenever they make claims of racism so don't mind them :) . This was an absolute classic movie and a truly great piece of cinema history.
Imagine coming home from work Wife: "So what did you do at work today sweetie?" Him: "Oh...you know, went over our scripts....howled like a dog....ate lunch, the usual stuff"
As a huge fan of voice acting and having still a love for what it used to be Disney animation and films, I can't thank you enough for putting this together. It was incredible watching the behind the scenes of these scenes. All these actors and performers did a wonderful job. A little shame to me though I see no scene with Tramp himself. But oh well.
They all look like they were having a lot of fun making this. I always got that impression every time I watched a Disney animated film: the voice actors were clearly enjoying themselves, there was never any moment I felt the actor was phoning it in, like, "okay, here's the voice, where's my check? Bye." I get the impression everyone involved had fun making these pictures.
I have always loved watching behind the scenes content. I'm not gonna lie, the pound scene always makes me cry so hard, even when I was a kid. But at the same time, seeing the actors facial expressions as they all singing together and howl had me smiling.
@@Thomas_H._Smith Have u seen Live Action of this on Disney+? Its Cute and more In Depth!! More Background!!! Which is something that has been done in the Live actions!! Especially Lady and the Tramp, and Beauty and the Beast.
I love how these people are so into cartoons voice. I am so thrilled to see this as this is one of my favorite Disney Movie. I am now 37 and still wanting to watch this movie all over and over again. ❤
I know the Siamese cat song is considered racially insensitive, and I can see why, but I still kind of like it. Seeing the footage of the rough test makes me like it a little more. Peggy Lee and the musicians look like they're trying to make something good, and it's hard to believe they had any negative intentions.
Exactly. I actually am Southeast Asian on my mother's side, and I was never really angry at it. They were just like, "Hey, since they're Siamese cats, why not give it some Oriental music, and Peggy did such a good job with the demo let's just have her sing it." They were never actually trying to be discriminatory.
Whoever thinks the cats thing is racist is probably stuck being another word that starts with the letter R. They are cats. Doesnt matter the breed. Cats are assholes. Its not racist. Its speciist 🤣
Barbara Luddy had a warm speaking voice. Walt liked her voice so much, he contacted her again when they made Sleeping Beauty, and when they made the Winnie the Pooh series. Luddy voiced Kanga 🦘
Thurl continued to work into his late 80s in the 1990s -- he was the MC for the annual Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. That's the last time I've heard him in-person.
Cannot believe they are all dead all those talented people! 😢Disney as it was PERFECTION and NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL to see and watch. It’s unbeatable (just like “Disney” today…) cough, cough.. 😂
I find it hilarious how one of the most depressing and heartbreaking scenes in any animated movie, puppies crying as they know they might soon be killed, has some of the most hilarious recording footage I’ve ever seen 😭
The dog pound song looks like some friends who just came home after a party and been drinking waay too much and now they're bored. "What do we do now? "Don't know...let's...howl together?" "Yeah! Great idea!" 😂😂😂😂
My childhood memory movie love it love it loooooove it, I had the record of all the Disney's Classics songs, excluding Alvin and the Chipmunks the 1940's version of him exspecialy his song Hula Hoop while always playing his harmonica like Stevie Wonder. Lady and the Tramp was my old time Disney's Classics flavor and the best part of the movie was indeed that dog pound part My girl Peggy Lee song He's A Tramp. And they're remaking Lady and the Tramp by adding real animals sometimes somethings needs to be left alone and Disney's Classics are one of them. I was 2 yrs old when the voice of Lady had died, 4yrs old when the Bloodhound died and 3 yrs old when one of these dogs from the pound had died. And 25 when Peggy Lee herself died back in 2002
Respects to ALL the voice actors out there. They make movies and shows that end up shaping our lives, the way we view the world. Truly legendary people making history.
Peggy Lee did both cats and Peg wow 😂 she did a good job with the singing i feel bad for most of the cast max smith, bill lee, thurl Ravenscroft, Peggy Lee, Bill baucom, Bill Thompson and Barbara Luddy rip to them guys
It's really sad to see what has been done to Walt's company. You hear the term "Disney Magic" and don't think of anything being produced today. Not only was Walt a genius who made my childhood great, he was a great and patriotic American as well. RIP, Walt. I'm glad you never got to see how they destroyed the dream you worked your whole life to create.
I still can’t believe there was a borzoi in Lady & The Tramp (the 2D version) & I love how the shadow of the bars on the dogs in the dog pound look like striped prison jump suits. Attention to detail is everything.
The guy who plays the Chihuahua looks Hispanic I might be mistaken, but if he is, that is really cool that they have an actual Hispanic person to play a Chihuahua! Cuz You know they come from Mexico.
Thurl Ravenscroft was also once the voice of Tigger, Tony the Tiger, and the singer of "You're a Mean One, Mister Grinch" from the animated How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Edit: NOT Tigger. 😅 I don't know how I bungled that one.
While it may not be every Disney classic, I'd encourage you to check out this video if you want to see more. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8LA97PI0l3o.html
i miss when movies were made like this. the voices of the characters, the PEOPLE THEY CASTED?? and just the overall making of classic movies. you can tell how differently the style was with talking and appearance
Scotty I’m trying not to cry either as well my story is a bit different: My cousin who had a daycare and took care of me since I was a baby had a cocker spaniel that looked like lady and she named it “lady” because she got her on Christmas just like Lady and the tramp- and I would spend every other weekend with them and spend a tremendous amount of time with lady I was in love with Lady then She passed away and they never told me why- But I was in love with Lady And I would watch “lady and the tramp” an lady would sit next to me at my cousins house😢 or on my lap🤗😍
0:38 Bill Thompson was a riot when voicing Jock. I wish he reunited with Hans Conried in Ben and Me as John Adams (if he appeared at the end) and Thomas Jefferson, and later in Sleeping Beauty as King Hubert and King Stefan (if Taylor Holmes turned down the role to focus working on Lady and the Tramp and just be used as Stefan’s singing voice in Sleeping Beauty). These two men were Mr Smee and Captain Hook in Peter Pan
