Lady GaGa's G.U.Y. (Review + Analysis)

I have a theatre background as well (I was actually the Wicked With of The West twice, LoL) and I just love that we can appreciate and find the meaning in her symbolism. I appreciate the double entendre of the video. Whether the intention behind the video is the story she's telling to the world, or if in actuality is representative of something much more meaningful, the idea behind it is genius, and is one of the reasons I love Gaga so much. Hollywood has declared 2014 the “Year of the Bible.” So with that in mind, you can find a Biblical meaning in the video as well. Whether you believe in Christianity or not, it still exists, and Gaga coming from a heavy Catholic background knows the stories of the bible very well. Here is an interpretation from THE (not MY) Christians point of view, which can all be verified by looking online. Lucifer, the fallen angel who was cast out of heaven falls to Earth and brings with him, money, the root of all evil. "Lucifer" literally means and comes from, "Venus, the Morning Star". I might lose you at the mention of "The Illuminati" but if you look at the men at the entrance of the castle she stumbles upon, there is a stark resemblance with that of these men attending these various "secret society" cults. With a following, Lucifer is able to be rebirthed and resuscitated. He's like, lemme distract you with these rich bimbos who have no talent (can't even play the instruments correctly) and force you to be on a shallow, never-ending quest for money, so I can come in and take over the world. Teddy bears are also linked to mind control. On the boat, she is even holding the red apple from the Garden of Eden, or the red pill of The Matrix. Lucifer brings Jesus back from the dead and cloning humans is him trying to BE like or better than God. The fight of good and evil has been ongoing since the beginning of time. DNA cloning is referred to as "The Mark of the Beast". Isaiah 14:13&14 "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most high." Doesn't the scene with the housewives kind of look heavenly? Its got kind of like a cloudy aura. So Lucifer is able to clone humanity and takes over with his own population of Satan worshippers. And just look at all the evil across the world. He's more blatantly prevalent then ever before. The rate of Agnostics and Atheists is growing rapidly everyday. My 7 yo niece literally has clothes with skulls and bones on them. How is that appropriate?! The "black bird" outfit kind of has a Devil-horn silhouette, yeah? And I am not saying Gaga is Lucifer. I am saying this could be the story OF Lucifer. He was an androgenous being who was described as very beautiful... that's why I think she's SO beautiful in this video... more beautiful then ever before! But as she says, your ARTPOP could mean anything. It could mean multiple things. It's art. This is actually a masterpiece. (And yes, I still love GAGA!)

I have no idea what there talking about judas and marry the night are 2 of the best gaga videos ever. Actually every song on born this way has some deep meaningful point to it. Which is why I love it she got real and deep. BORN THIS WAY IS WHY I BECAME A LITTLE MONSTER.

Phoenix rising from the ashes, rebirth in deed. She has a bow - Not sure what that's suppose to reference - Maybe a Cupid? Infecting us wtih her love? Sometimes I think this may even be an Icarus reference. I love your idea of an innocent angel soiled by the music corporation. Neptune's pool/Greek mythology references. The apple she's holding while on the floating lounge is a reference to Homer's Odyssey, "the apple of discord," which had the words inscribed on it "For the fairest". The video is very personal to Gaga and incorporates the many things that brought her back from the low she'd been feeling. Art, minecraft, RHOBH, monsters (Haus of Gaga) and probably some good sex o.o. Shooting them up with money - distracting the shallow industry workers - and then moving up to take over the corporation.
