Yeah, I tweeted her 11/17/2013 and she tweeted me back and followed me, Still can't believe how lucky I was. Here's the tweet if you wanna see it :) twitter.com/ladygaga/status/402300966122586112
i adore madonna and have done for years, but i do not understand why she thinks lady gaga is copying her, madonna has never had the pipes to sing like THIS ever
Madonna's vanity is showing if she things that Lady Gaga is copying her. The Lady has far better people to copy and would be the first one to admit it. She's a total fangirl. Look to her performance of Sound of Music for the Oscars. She spent 3 months working on that, not to copy but do it justice. There is no way that Lady Gaga would dishonor Dame Julie Andrews. More to the point, Lady Gaga has other idols who, in many ways, are more in keeping with her performance style development: Cher, Freddie Mercury, Donna Summer, Alice Cooper, Grace Jones and Bowie. A singer/songwriter in a way that Madonna is not (Madonna is a dancer, bar none), Lady Gaga understands the aspects of theatre/vaudeville/performance art in performance, but is able to strip it down to the bare minimum and still be convincing.
Nor the acting ability...Lady GaGa sings and acts her *ss off...she puts her entire being into whatever she is doing. Bravo! Madonna was never and will never rise to Lady GaGa's level of ability or God given talent.
i agree. amazing voice. she may be the most talented female singer today, but her music does nothing for me. my library is filled with female artists, but no plans to include her.
Her voice is simply amazing, also shes a great actress. Now her music is not the best thats the true. She cannot be compared to Madonna never. Because one thing is having the best voice and another thing completely different is being a successful singer and entertainer and in that field Madonna is the queen
We won't have an opportunity to check the accuracy of your prediction, of course. But the odds are against that being true. Mother Monster is unbelievably talented and terrific in so damned many ways. But there have innumerable singers before her who were just as talented and versatile, but were little remembered or forgotten a generation later, if that long. Just a test -- There were female singers at least as talented and versatile in the 20th century whose careers ended before you were born. Strictly from your current knowledge, without looking anything up, without doing a Google search, name ten. There were female singers as good as Lady Gaga in the 19th century -- again, from your current knowledge only, name three. Then name ten more from all of human history prior to the 19th century. Unless you have studied music and, music history especially, in depth, you almost certainly will fail.
@@akaSlasher i agree perfectly with You. I honestly think she's too overrated from a vocal point of view and the often screams instead of singing since She utilizes an amount of energy which is useless and dangerous for your vocals. A real powerful singer doesn't need to scream like that in order to show the World his own talent, because they already have It. For example a singer like Anastacia (and others) , Who is a real "freak of nature" and sings powerfully, doesn't shout because it's not necessary. She's really talented, so She doesn't need to do something like that. Singing is One thing, screaming is another one. So pay attention and listen very well (especially)technique before telling that Simeone is a legend, because "Legend" is really a strong Word to give.
This must've been so hard to choose which performances to include since she really never has had a bad performance, she gives it her all every time she's on that stage
Her elaborate performances with choreography aren’t that impressive vocally like Born This Way at the Grammys, on these kind of performances it’s not about the singing it’s about the show. The acoustic or more simples performances is when she shines.
Arnaud Rivière girl she belted the hell out of that little organ in that performance all the while dancing idk what you watched but it’s not her Grammys performance.
I swear I see so much of Freddie Mercury in the way she sings. Completely out of mind and satisfactorily crazy. God damn that stage presence even in the piano.
She may be a *pop* star. She may have recorded a *jazz* album with one of the genre's foremost figures. She may have a background in *musical theater*. She may be this generation's *disco/dance* diva. But EVERYTHING about Lady Gaga except the music itself (her singular style, the show stopping performances, the swagger she exudes onstage, and most importantly her vocals) is PURE ROCK STAR! Like this if you agree.
littlebird96 yeah especially posing with young children at cannibalism events, campaigning for sexual awareness with a known pedophile, and collaborating with r kelly.
If Robert Plant doesn't want to tour with Jimmy & JPJ, Grab up GaGa and Jason and let's do this live. She sounded awesome doing LZ!! I'd pay serious money for that!!
LMAO. Lady Gaga has one of the best voices ever in the industry. She's performed with Christina and is close friends with Adele and Mariah and they all respect her. Her rendition of the National Anthem at the SB has been dubbed the second best ever only behind Whitney and Whitney's was prerecorded....also she is a piano prodigy. She went to Julliard when she was 11 and was one of 30 Americans accepted early to the prestigious Tisch school of the performing Arts at the age of 17. What i'm saying is that she's way more than just talented....lmao you want to talk about talent? She's waaayy more versatile than any of those vocalists you mentioned and is held in the exact same regard, but morever she's highly intelligent. THAT is my point. She's above them.
omjayboy Beyoncé is involved with EVERYTHING hat goes in with creating her music. She is a co-writer & a co-producer as well. Get your facts straight before you go talking BS
Jamie Bon honey, beyonce LITERALLY changed a single letter in a song to get writing credits, she claims to have written songs but she's been exposed multiple times, by Ne-Yo, Rob Fusari etc. She's a fraud, she just sings the songs and picks them from producers. Those songs weren't specifically crafted for her albums, she happened to pick them.
omjayboy and is that a crime??? No!!! Secondly Beyoncé pays for the songs that she wants and in doing so she then legally owns the song as well. She has ever right to change lyrics, rearrange the melody and song arrangement as much as she pleases to for her needs for her album or single it's just that simple and that counts as co-writing as well e she has a hand in altering what ever goes in the song writing process. And lastly Beyoncé actually has written her own lyric before, her biggest hits back in destiny's child were mostly written by her.
'Til It Happens To You at the Oscars was also missing .. when she belted "'til it happens to youuuuu!!!!!" right as the victims of sexual abuse walked out still has me shook to this day. One of her most intense vocal climaxes ever.
Sorry, but no, voting for best song in a motion picture is about that and nothing else. It is not, and should not, be "best song by or about someone not yet accused of sexual assault." Actually, and I don't mean this facetiously, a striking point could be made by eliminating from Oscar consideration everything with which a sexual assault perpetrator was associated. The brevity of what remained would serve as a very stark picture for the public of how pervasive is the vile conduct that some predators inflict on others.
One of the only pop stars in decades that could turn any of their studio produced hits into an acoustic ballet on piano from the days of "Just Dance" and I've found it interesting for her to slowly look more and more like "Stephanie" (herself) and less like "GaGa" covered in elaborate costumes. Smart move because she'll still have a career decades from now. One of the few who doesn't need anything but her voice.
Less Gaga because it gets boring. She gets bored too doing it. The public gets bored. The public know what to expect so it becomes the norm. It loses its value. It loses its wow factor. Yes, I will mention Madonna and Elton John and David Bowie. Looking at this clip is her moulding all of those great artists into one and trying her best to make it original. Sure, she's pulled it off. She has a fan base. She is not a legend. Legend is a word thrown around too easily today. Great managers around her. Great support in her background I'm sure. Don't have a go at me for my opinion. I watched and I've commented. Accept it and move on. I haven't spread hate. Just a mere opinion. I don't dislike Gaga. OK.
At first I really wasn't a fan of hers. I liked a few songs, but I saw her in AHS-Hotel and I was blown away by her performance. THEN I saw her documentary on Netflix and heard her sing the piano version of Bad Romance. I cried my eyes out when she sang it like that. I was beyond shook. Gaga is one of those rare Unicorns that can sing anything (WITHOUT auto-tune) and be a down to earth woman. She definitely has a big fan in me!!!
One of the best singers nowadays, I don't understand how people can compare her to Katy perry and the other girls that can't never sing, it's a different league
Given her young age and her growing popularity, she could easily be the biggest musical star of all time, as I think that her appeal will grow and grow, judging by many of the comments on here. Her talent is finally being realised.
when she just came to this world with pop songs I was like "meh". Now I look at her as a true artist, genius, super talent, she has so many personalities, sides, emotions... mind blowing. And she feels to be very genuine.
EVERY PERSON. EVERY HATER. EVERYBODY MUST SEE THIS. I DONT KNOW I JUST HAVE THIS GUT FEELING THAT EVRYONE DOESNT NEED TO LIKE OR LOVE GAGA. BUT GOD SHE IS A PURE TALENT COVERING ALL GENRES. SHES TRULY THE QUEEN OF MUSIC. FROM ENTERTAINMENT TO PURE VOICE AND PERFORMANCE TALENT. LOVE YOU GAGSS
I never really hated her like some do, but until last week, I had never really given her a chance, I've been on a binge since I did. I don't know if I'm alone in this one, but her her imagery reminds me a lot of Rammstein
I know for some reason Madonna seems to want GaGa to be a rival or whatever, but in reality, Madonna's voice doesn't even come close to GaGa. I lived through the Madonna madness when she first came up and I know Madonna changed everything for women. I watched all the girls start to dress and act like her. She really was a force of nature, but vocally, she's not even in the same league as the great Lady GaGa!! When you can sing classics with Tony Bennett and sound fantastic, and then switch to Led Zeppelin and make me want her to tour with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, you can sing your ass off and Lady GaGa can sing her ass off!!
I can't, words can't describe the love and admiration I have for this woman, and it hurts me that she is so fucking underrated and people criticize her so much 😭
BALENCIAGA ! It’s one thing to be impressed & respect her or anyone for their talent. A normal level of admiration is completely natural, wether it’s with singers, athletes, actors etc.. Another thing is to claim to love them. Another thing is to feel pain for them, especially over a slight you perceive exists where she’s not getting her due. That’s in reaction to how much of a closet-lunatic I can guarantee you are...as is anyone else that’ll feign love & link their happiness or any of their emotions to any another person, especially another person you only know from TV, Radio or the Internet. This is in response to the substance of the statement. I couldn’t care less about Lady Gaga or any other entertainer/athlete etc. Other than whether or not they can provide entertainment. Anyone that looks to these people as role models, for political views, for which way to vote, their views on vaccination or on anything for that matter, is a moron, is the reason why we’re becoming a cesspool & is a herpe on the lip of life. That being said, years ago when my daughter was a toddler “Paparazzi” was on the radio, my daughter & I would sing & dance to it. But when I seen Lady Gaga making statements with her outfits about this “atrocity” or that “outrage”...I was completely turned off. It wasn’t til I seen her w/o all the BS & just being herself on The Howard Stern Show on Howard TV that I actually found myself rooting for her & hearing her sing a cappella “On The Edge” made it obvious she wasn’t one of these no talent ha is that need to be drowned in overproduced noise & autotune & have to come up with gimmicky costumes, meat outfits & cause controversy by speaking out on topics they have no business speaking out about. Rather, she naturally had one of the most beautiful & powerful voices I’ve ever heard. Anyways, to say she’s underrated is beyond absurd, she’s one of the most universally known figures ever. She’s one of the most sold-out, most sold, most downloaded & highest grossing entertainers on earth in history. To say she’s criticized is absurd & also relative. Her music is critically acclaimed, she’s honored & hailed for her charity work. She’s only criticized for what I mentioned earlier. For using her platform as an entertainer to force feed people her beliefs on politics, world events etc. people turn to & support artists, singers, musicians, athletes etc. as an escape from reality, as an escape from exactly what she’s constantly trying to inject into every interview, appearance, award show...When you speak on polarizing subjects, expect polarizing results.
I love GaGa, but to say she has the best voice on earth, Kelly Clarkson pretty damn good too. Sia is another. Have you ever heard Sia's raw voice, damn very touching.
Kukuh Santoso You must be tone deaf, go listen to each one in their natural voice, you can tell who's who with your eyes closed, but all 3 can hit the notes they're after. The are others out there too, Pink, is another one.
Sia has a beautiful voice, for sure - but she doesn't have anywhere NEAR the vocal range Lady Gaga has. That is just a fact. Sia has a great mid-range, but when she belts with her upper-chest voice it becomes very strained. Lady Gaga can hit that upper-chest voice / range almost effortlessly. You can also HEAR how Gaga has grown in technique the last 10 years. Just listen to "I'll Never Love Again" from A Star is Born. She sings half the song in a higher register - one that is NOT normal for her and one you don't normally hear her sing in (akin to Celine Dion or Whitney Houston). Sia has also admitted, sadly from substance abuse, that her voice cracks a lot more than what it normally should. She has done vocal rehab to help repair some of this - but there is only so much that can do. Sia is a wonderful singer, but I would have to say that Lady Gaga has a "better voice" in the respect of her vocal range, her technique, and her ability to utilize and hit home different styles. Gaga does everything from pop to jazz to broadway .... Sia has mostly stuck with emotive pop.
Wendy S. is correct. But there is a cut away, so the first two clips (same dress) is from Lush Life. There is a reason why you don't hear it recorded often. I repeat - it is NOT an easy song to sing.
She can sing any song, any genre, the phone book, encyclopedias, early in the morning. Super talented, chameleon, beautiful. That sums up Gaga for me. The Dogs Boll****s big time :)
The Alan Carr performances are my favourites💕 Also the sweetness mixed with the power and the emotion of the you and I, Marry the night and The edge of glory piano performances are on another level💕
everyone obsessing over ariana grande autotuned songs like "omg i love her queen omg slay" when lady gaga here is a real legend, a real singer with real talent.
Have seen, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughn, Minnelli, Turner, Bassey and K. D Lang all at relative height of their powers, and I expect Gaga will be the cream that rises to the top when I see her in Feb 18. Comparing Madonna's vocal range to Gagas is like comparing a stray cat with a Tiger. Madonna just not in the same league as Gaga, and if you disagree - get your hearing tested.
Andromeda Perseo To be fair, Madonna was always primarily a producer - she always got the best behind her. Lady Gaga had vision and talent but it took Tony Bennett to teach her the importance of quality in all areas of her work and to only work with the best. Lady Gaga recognizes that she is getting older and understands the importance of longevity, another lesson she learned from Mr. Bennett.
You did a great job putting this together. Definitely the best "Best Gaga Vocals" video I've seen. So many of the others are made by people who aren't fans and aren't as familiar with all her performances
So many people comparing Gaga's voice to current stars, but she's in a league of her own. IMO, her voice compares to Whitney Houston's in the peak of her powers, but still have to give the edge to Whitney.
So, I'm a big fan of Lady GaGa, because duh (as you saw above), and I was dating this trash guy and we were watching the Super Bowl together (me for Mother Monster and him for the actual game). After her amazing half time performance I was in literal tears and he got all pissy and was like "That's all auto tune! A real singer would sing! She's fake! Blah blah blah..." I broke up with him on the spot and a month later he texted me out of the blue and said I was right and now I feel victorious.
Odd as that seems she’s one of the few that doesn’t only dress sexy... yes she mayalways look sexy, but she can sing... put her next to most of the others today!
