Isn´t it strange that the original persons Lady Gaga et al are playing in the film spoke actually Italian, not English with a stereotype Italian accent.

I like Gaga’s work but on this one I feel she could have done more research on how to have an Italian accent, coz she sounds Russian to me.

Gaga's accent in the film is not a stereotypical Italian accent. It's kind of weird but then Patrizia had a weird accent in video clips of her. It is kind of Russian sounding.

She’s not fully trained (as in, completed a program at a conservatory), but she had received training. She’s gotten A LOT better at acting since her early days, where was kinda awkward at first.

I'm a 49 years Italian living in Italy and she doesn't sound Italian to me. Real Italian accent is different from US stereotype of a supposed Italian accent.

YES!!! This! How, how is this supposed to logically work that Italians speak always in English but with the accent. This is just completely absurd! Either they speak in Italian without an accent or in English without an accent and we supposed to imagine that it’s just a translation to tell the story for the benefit of the audience. The freaking accent is not logical at all!

MAYBE...it would make sense if you're speaking of an Italian born and raised in an English-speaking country, but an Italian who is born and raised in Italy (who learned English) , would, in fact, speak it (at least for awhile) with an Italian accent. Additionally, in the world of filmmaking, particularly if a film is being (primarily) marketed to English-speaking audiences -- naturally you would have the actors speaking in English, though injected with an Italian accent to give the audience something to "feel" real as they'd define it. It's filmmaking FCOL. Of course there's an expectation that you'll use your imagination. Seriously...how do you MISS these obvious realities?
