For those of you who keep saying The Girl never got knocked over. Check out this link. Please feel free to comment your thoughts on what happened. ru-vid.com7y3RrfB-bJA?si=XHvRsCcd9biePXfs
Exactly!! She was near where the wall goes down or it looked like she was close. They just don’t think whatever of the danger. What would’ve happened if she broke her leg? Because a bigger wave did hit again after she was up on her feet and made her way off. She would’ve been in a lot of trouble if she went over the other side with broken bones. Added Those coastguards put their lives in danger always having to save people who don’t use their brains and get caught in these conditions.
Some people are just idiots. Not only are they putting their own lives and their children's lives in danger, they also risking the lives of the coastguards who have to rescue them!
I hope as many people see this video as possible, to understand the lethal danger the sea poses. You have done a great service by publishing this video.
I was there. Saw all of this unfolding. Watched from St Mary's Church. The power of the sea. Come on people! Wise up. Probably tourists. Not locals. ❤🌊❤
@@WalkerDavid-gp4zc"I DO KNOW ITS NOT SAFE BUT ITS NOT VERY DANGEROUS TO ME"... "I RUSHED BACK SAFELY WITHOUT GETTING A SINGLE WATER DROP ON MY COAT" ?? 🤡 🤡 🤣 🤣... IT ONLY TAKES ONE MISTAKE, AND I HOPE YOU NEVER EVER HAVE THAT MISTAKE
Thanks for publishing this. Makes my blood boil that people can show such disregard for themselves but more specifically, for those who have to risk their own lives to save them from their stupidity. Unbelievable.
Those who were rescued should now be charged with endangering the lives of the coastguard staff (and also the child) who had to assist them. And then they should be fined the costs of the rescue operations. Another example of "you can't fix stupid".
Just glad they’re all safe, can’t believe how they thought it was ok to go onto the pier no conception of how dangerous it is,thanks for sharing this 😱😱🧐🤔❤️
Congratulations to the Coast Guard teams who risk their lives. It is hard to believe some people can be so stupid, especially in charge of the life of a child. Hopefully, watching your footage will give them time to reflect on their stupidity.
Great call from you but they're angry at being called out for their neglect of the child and their own safety, unbelievable! I hope they read what viewers think of their sheer stupidity. They should pay a big donation to RNLI.
Unfortunately, people who have never grown up by the sea, just don’t appreciate how dangerous even a small swell or tidal flow can be….nevermind a storm surge, living on an island..🇮🇲. It’s heartening to know that the majority of manx residents, have great respect for the power of the sea, and the damage it can inflict , glad this situation had a good outcome.👍🇮🇲👌
i havent grown up by the sea but its not rocket science seeing those waves, just gross stupidity and selfishness, modern day life and too many people make excuses for their behaviour,
It's like everything though - _some people_ have no concept of what could go wrong - they think they know better. I live in London - a mile from the Thames - and have huge respect for the sea and all waterways. When ships and boats can be lost in stormy weather, it's fairly obvious that humans can be tossed about like confetti. Huge respect for the Coastguard.
LIFEBOAT CREWS AND COASTGUARD RESCUE ARE HEROES WHO PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK TO CARE FOR PEOPLE WHO OFTEN DO NOT REALISE THE RISKS THESE STORMS AND STRONG HIGH TIDES CAN EASILY BECOME A SERIOUS SITUATION VERY QUICKLY.AWESOME MEN AND WOMEN GIVE THEIR TIME TO TRAIN AND PRACTICE HARD TO CARE FOR PEOPLE.
What really gets me is the danger they put the coastguard in People who selflessly put themselves in danger for complete idiots way more than anyone should.
I was at Whitby today and could see people walking on that pier despite massive waves crashing over.l wondered if you would be filming, and was hoping nobody would be injured,or worse.
Just up the coast at Staithes two people were washed into the sea. Luckily they made it back out. I don't think it will be long before we have a fatality.
As a Stockton Lass, we used to have days out at Whitby Dad always kept us safe from waters like this, he used to say there are people born with all their marbles in one box and some with just a few marbles, that there soon loose, "These people" he used to say, are as mad as a box of frogs.
So the big Red danger sign EXTREME DANGER FROM WAVE ACTION DURING ROUGH WEATHER means nothing to them i hope they have had time to reflect on their actions not only puttting themselves in danger but also endangering those who had to rescue them all Glad that it had a good outcome well done the coastguard.
It's sad but it's the normal response. Ive told people many times over the years how much danger they are in, and the general response ranges from F-off, to I'm going to punch you. They never do punch you, or certainly not to date any way.
Even the young lass smiling at the camera 📷 once she had been rescued. I can't believe the stupidity of some people putting others in great danger. Biggest Eye roll ever.
If any of them had been washed into the sea I wouldn't have fancied their chances. And of course the lives of any of the first responders would have been put at risk as well. What selfish simpletons.
The absolute crass stupidity of some people continues to astound me. I guess that some people have always been stupid across the years, it’s just that media exposes them to a wider audience. ……
Dont normally comment on the fools that risk their own lifes but,,,,,just looking at that last kn.. head strolling off with hands in pockets makes me feel physically sick.
People are so stupid ! I was at Staithes the other weekend and a bloke with his two kid were right under the North side cliff before the pier, I told him it was not safe and he said he had a hard head and I should mind my own business
Why on earth would you be on a Pier is such treacherous weather conditions just one slip on the slippy Pier and a life could be over either adult of child. Not only did these adults put a child at risk they also put the lives of the Coastguards at risk. The adults should be prosecuted I feel totally irresponsible. Well done to the Coastguards.
We were stood on the north side on the hill near Captain Cook Statue taking photos of all of this... Having served with HM Coastguard in Scarbo we have seen a lot of this, the way some people do things and don't ever think of the problems they make putting others life's in danger just so they can get one photo of the high waves....people like that should be prosecuted for putting life's at risk the feller taking that kid on there for one....
Room temperature IQ in those people. They wouldn’t have been so lucky if the coastguard weren’t located so close, or on another call. The people should be billed. Same thing happened just up the road in Staithes. Absolute buffoons.
I witnessed exactly this in 1984 in Tynemouth, Northeast of England. Waves just like this when my boyfriend and myself ran to the rescue of two small children being slammed into the railings on the end of the pier. The little girl had a cut chin and her brother was shaken but ok.
There are large danger signs don't parents read these now, I think people enjoy the danger putting themselves and others in harms way the coast guards are very brave to do what is needed of them in such situations.
There's no cure for stupid. I feel sorry for those that put their own safety aside to rescue these absolute numptys. They should be charged financially for the inconvenience that they cause.
The two men with the child lack intelligence and are unfit to look after a dog. The child has not been taught the danger of water and risk to life. Had the child been swept away, he would have stood no chance.
I live in Scarborough been here most of my life,it makes me sick when I see people not respecting the sea ,it takes one second and your dead ,i worked on trawlers in past ,the big lesson i learned is always respect the sea
Great vid how stupid and downright iresponsible of these idiots to not only go on the pier but take a child with them thumbs up to the rescue team and you dud right to challenge them but people like that will never learn the sea will take anyone it must be treated with respect.
