She’s fabulous. I love how she looked out for Rose in spite of Susan making that divorce declaration and Lord Sinderby gearing up to say something against Rose…
Rose is a fine example of chaotic good. I admire her for her bravery and giant heart. I think it was Lord Grantham who said that if you let her she will love you forever.
I love Rose as a character because she's shown such growth, maybe even more than Mary ever has. Yes she was a spoiled brat in the beginning but she's always been well-meaning and found a rare kind of love, full of genuine affection, during the time that she lived. She deserves all the happiness in the world.
When Carson and Mary are talking, the music or I'll call it "the Matthew and Mary theme" is playing. A nice reminder that Mary still thinks of Matthew. Very sweet!
So much love and trust shown between Rose and Shrimpy. Just from that small conversation going up the stairs, she shows trust in his judgment regarding the false pictures and he trusts her feelings towards Atticus. Pretty well written and acted.
@@kellicoffman8440The final nail was naming her daughter after Cora and Rachel. 'Victoria Rachel Cora Aldridge.' She was mentioned in the series finale when Rose and Atticus attended Edith and Bertie's wedding. At the time she was 3 months old.
I love Lord and Lady Sinderby talking about them inviting the Crawley's for grousing season and Lord Sinderby having no say in the matter. That is just so husband and wife, no matter the year 😂🤣
Well in previous episodes it sounded like a marriage of convenience. He did say they were happy once, once the children were grown they lost interest in each other. Unfortunately it happens to a lot of marriages.
@@zoiefinnian3540 our condolences. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my Grammy at 96. She actually looked exactly like Violet. She acted a lot like her so adorable.
@@patriciabandeko3842 Yes! Up until then he put up with her for his wife's and his son's sake, but that was the moment he truly saw what a clever and kind hearted person she was, saw her worth and truly accepted her into the family as his daughter (-in-law). 😃
I don't know about happy ever after because the depression still happens. Her husband works on wall street. But I feel like rose could find happiness anywhere. I mean Thomas even liked her and he hates most people.
I always felt bad for her mother. Rose only by some miracle didn't ruin her life with her choices. She is awfully shallow. And the may she gained favor of her father-ilaw was awful
Really happy for Rose in this sequence but it also puts the Balfour declaration in context. A declining and bankrupt British nobility/ establishment was beholden. The Palestinians did not stand a chance 😭
@@pameladavis895 yeah they didn't handle it well, I do wonder though what would have happened to rose if she had ended up marrying Jack , they couldn't go to America, interracial marriage was illegal in the 20s
It depended on what interracial marriages looked like. Although there was opposition to Jewish, Irish, and upstairs/downstairs marriages in the European fashion, they still happened. Interracial when it came to color (dark skinned), African, African-American, was the taboo! Downton Abbey didn't know how to handle this without offending their audience. I felt that if they weren't ready to go down this road, then why introduce it?@@dylangarcia3898
@@dylangarcia3898 Rose was going through a rebellious phase with Jack Ross. She wanted to shock and hurt her mother and getting involved with a black American musician was her way of doing that. He cared for her but knew they could never be together. Glad to see Mary step in and talk to him.
I was skeptical at first, thought she would be a bitchy character, but understanding the situation with her mother, she was a breath of fresh air, loved her
