Bought a ticket for the 2023 show in Seattle today. Started listening to this band after hearing them on the University of Calgary’s independent radio station, over 20 years. Needless to say I’m looking forward to seeing them live.
You are Bulgarian? if so... can I ask you a question?..... You see... I don't trust Google Translator. Could you give me a rough translation of what "True Mathematics" lyrics are saying? if you have the time... thank you.
@@luisditaa Sure, this is a literal translation so the rhymes are lost. I also tried to keep the flow of the words so the word order may not be the best in English: The Sun crosses their rainbow On the sand they are drawing a brilliant light Around (through) the town they run Here and there they peek Quickly they dress up Attention they don't draw Suncho puts them to sleep in the warm couch Quietly they will count to six hundred and one (x2) Suncho is a cartoon character who sings a lullaby to the children in order to get them to sleep. It's somewhat similar to Sandman.
@@luisditaa Fun fact that probably 90% of the fans are missing (except Bulgarians :D) - there are random voiceovers panned left and right in the track. They seem to be random exclamations from Mira to a child (or children) - things like "what are you doing now, come here" etc.
I love it that you can just put on an album and hardly have to skip a song. And it's so various in style, the songs are all different but still they manage to always touch the right strokes. Amazing and underrated. I thank the people who decided to use their song ghosts in the game Need for Speed otherwise I would have never heard of Ladytron.
Agreed. That's why they're my favorite band! Glad video games exposed them to many other! Was never a huge NFS fan, but many other games brought to other artists in the past!
Given how complex their music is I don't blame them for looking tense when performing live. It's one thing to sit together and edit these compositions piece by piece in a studio, it's quite another to execute multiple layers of synth which interact with the vocals in real time.
Old gear sounds amazing and looks great, we’ve all done it, dragging stuff up staircases to play to a dozen people 😂 Cool band are Ladytron, very cool. A big regret never catching these play live. Big thanks to the person that posted this up.
I'm so glad to see this whole video set online. This live version of "discotraxx" is my all time favorite. It was on here then deleted a year or so back. I was bummed, but I knew there was hope!
Music for intergalaxial travels. Watching out the window looking at the black hole in the center of the Milkyway Galaxy turn like an old grindstone, slowly it turns and turns.
I've heard 1000s of bands while hanging around various venues and these Ladytrons have some interesting vibes that awaken your senses. I'm curious what they would sound like with slower songs, weaving their magic into a simpler fabric. At times the lyrics are a little creepy, but their creativity is inspiring.
They seem to be exhausted at some point. Reminded me of Cocteau Twins: they don’t need live performance to sound cool. Although, as those ones, they sound epic as well!
I've known about them for a while, but only started getting really into them THIS year. Seeing them in November!! Was always smitten for Mira, but damn Helen is smokin' cute here!
Just my opinion but I love the heavy classic bass line, and mellow electric tunes. A classic sounding band i can pop open a brew and spark a number with a few friends and chill the evening away. ♥️☮️
I may actually go back to work and hope these guys turn up on one of stages in the future . I may even have worked a stage with them in the past! Too Many Stages! Too many bands! How can I possibly remember everything
@@AquarianAngel I understand that the comparison that the guy made was for the purpose of putting both groups on the same level. If he associated them, it is because he knows both and likes them both. But when you say "this sounds like this other one" you deny the particularity of each of the musicians. All the people say "Motorama sounds Joy Division" and when people ask Motorama about Joy Division they answer "we don't know them", how to explain that? There is no way. There are influences, and they are undeniable, but no artist sounds more than himself.
Love this! I think it's a great live recording, I liked watching them adjust the levels, they don't need sound engineers. Does anyone know what the guitars are? They look cool
