The 40A ESC is kind of limiting. They recommend using only Lion and only with a max of 3000mAh and a max discharge rate of 25C. I ran a 5200mAh 2S Lipo with a 50C and after about 8 minutes the ESC was super hot. I'm considering replacing the ESC with a Hobbywing 1060 just so I can use larger batteries. I haven't ran it with the included Lion battery yet. Edit: Ran it with the stock battery and it was still fun to drive, ESC and motor got hot but not too bad. Got maybe 15-20 minutes out of it.
