Just for fun, this doesn't reflect how these tools perform on nuts and bolts. Check out my other videos to see how they perform on rusty fasteners. In this video the Ryobi battery was charged each time...even if it showed full power I put it on charger for 30 min. You can really see the difference visually in reverse torque , not so much forward torque. Yes I know I screwed up the dewalt but that is real life battle no 2nd chances. Going so fast it lost control. I put the green tape stripe on the sockets so you can see them spinning.

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

Just bought this Ryobi impact wrench for $99 with a charger and a high capacity battery at HD during their Black Friday sale. You cannot beat the value of this tool compared to more expensive brands. You get the most bang for buck and that is very important for the DIYer.

No lol thats comepltely false. As a professional contractor I have had my roybi standard 18v drill for over 8 years and still works great, while other who have had dewalts may have had that same tool, but they have had to replace triggers, and the motors etc.

maxboogie we switched from dewalts to Ryobi a while back at work so far everyone's impressed with the "little impacts that could" don't get me wrong it's damn hard to beat a dewalt but for the price ryobi is putting up a great fight even in industrial applications.

Well with all the new ryobi tools that have come out in the last 2 years they have really gotten a lot better. We use there tools everyday for home remodeling. And there 18v nail guns are great and priced perfect. We decided after our last DeWalt and Makita hammer drill died that we will use Ryobi for the cost savings and three-year warranty and have not regretted that yet. And the price for the large 4 amp batteries is the best I have seen.

I'm not sure why people are whining about the differences in "class", voltage (20v is stepped down to 18v anyways), corded/cordless, etc. It's not like people set their mind to buy a 20v 'prosumer grade' tool of some sort, then figure out what 20v 'prosumer grade' tool they want. The actual buying process begins with the customer seeing a want/need for a specific tool, then comparing brands to see which one is best suited for their needs and this is a great quick comparison between different brand's offerings. Well done!

It doesn’t even matter, it’s a +-4v or so throughout the battery’s charge status, and amperage is a good thing to have
@darkopz
@darkopz 5 лет назад
For anyone stumbling upon this I looked it up to see what the deal was. These batteries using 5-cell series with a nominal voltage of 3.6, hence 18v. Their max voltage is 4v, hence 20v max. So it’s just a matter of Nominal vs Max voltage.

I don't care about performance or how quickly the job gets done! If you want reliability and longevity you go with Dewalt. Ryobi is what you buy when you have a couple projects a year but Dewalt I use every damn day. I've been using Dewalt for nearly 7 nears from their chopsaws to their drills. I've basically owned everything Dewalt and I'd never choose anything else. Ryobi 50% cheaper but plan on purchasing a new drill 10 years down the road when you do your 10th home project. While I'm using Dewalt a thousand times a year. My father has also been in the construction industry for nearly 40 years and has tried everything from Milwaukee to rigid to the terrible ryobi... Dewalt is king. The only ones to carry 60v 12amp batteries that run all damn day. Sure their heavy but all their cordless stuff like their chopsaws and table saws and blowers. It's the best on the market. Once again you want reliability and longevity you go Dewalt.

Jordan Osman : Your criticisms may be valid for many of Ryobi tools but not the new brushless ones, yes they are marketed towards the weekend warrior but they are much much better than they used to be and compare favorably to the less than top end Dewalts and others, Milwaukee on the other hand is much higher quality, and so is Mikita, in my opinion, I have them all...I am less impressed with the Dewalt lately, So what you’ve experienced 20 years or 15 years in the past is not today brother.... But your opinion is valid, and it is yours, enjoy it

Ryobi and milwaukee are made by the same company. And there new battery's are great in all weathers. My farther in-law is a retired builder and he uses makita I helped him on his garden workshop and he was blown away with my ryobi impact driver and drill. But mostly he loved the battery's my 1.5ah out ran his 3ah and my 4.0ah just kept going 1200 screws and it still had power.

OK, I only have the Ryobi P261 (new April 2016). Was working on my 2011 Tacoma this past week. Had used it a bit with the smaller battery. Taking off a wheel the first 3 lug nuts came off a little slow, but came off. Then it would not budge the next 3. I got a fresh 4 AH battery and those 3 lug nuts almost leaped off. The condition of the battery means a lot with that P261. Oh, I absolutely love the P261.

George Pinson - Same experience here as well. The P261 is a great tool, at any price. The fact that you can get it and a very nice drill, + two batteries, for about $100 is awesome. I now have quite a few USA tools, they may in fact contain cheap chinese shit for parts or not. There is a difference the quality of chinese parts from one vendor to another, they have to stand behind them and I can only say the DeWalt tools I've had over the years have held up well. My older Milwaukee USA stuff is good the newer chinese shit is not as good.

a lot of people do not know this but Ryobi is made by the same company who makes Milwaukee, so in turn they work the same with the same amount of power as the other big brands but with less quality parts that will fail much much sooner. Its really up to you though if you use the tool a lot then in the long run you will be replacing it a lot compared to a dewalt.

Where I work, we have contractors that have worked there as long as I have (28yrs). I keep seeing Ryobi tools show up in their work boxes. If you watch a lot of wood working videos, you see a lot of Ryobi tools. They are good products. Maybe not as good as the uber expensive ones, but they are real good. My wife bought me a One+ combo set maybe 15 years ago for Christmas. At the time, I was kind of wishing she had bought DeWalt. They have held up really well and I still use them and I have added to the One+ set. Ryobi makes so many tools for the One+ batteries that are solid and I'm sold on them. And since Ryobi went to lithium batteries, they are even better.

I used to buy Dewalt, Porter Cable, and Milwaukee back when they ware US made. About 15 years ago when they started making them in China and Mexico i didn't see any reason for spending twice as much for them. I started buying Ryobi cordless tools and have had very good luck with them. I still have several that are 15 years old and they still work great and will accept the new batteries that are much better than the old nicads. I'm a self employed carpenter and use them regularly but i don't beat the crap out of any of my tools like some people do. I still have a bunch of corded US made tools that will likely outlast me.

You would expect way more of it and yes they all beat the ryobi, BUT not by far. I was very impressed by how the ryobi held its ground... Comparing size and price also the ryobi is without a doubt the best bang for your buck. And its shamefull to watch the other tools only barely barely outperform the ryobi. RYOBI is the best buy bar none. It may be a tad slower that some of the over priced Brand Names, but it is the value leader by far.

The thing the lag bolt challenge loses out on is that all the impacts can sink it no problem. Then it is just RPM, and they are all similar. But torque-wise the Dewalt and Milwaukee are ~800ft/lbs, the Ryobi is 300. Hell, the 1/4" impact drivers can drive those same lags. So you wouldn't see the Ryobi 1/2" impact losing out much until high torque applications. Not saying any of them are bad, just that with impacts it's more about whether it can do it at all, and not how fast.
@maddog7012
@maddog7012 4 года назад
Another thing to look at is how small the anvil housing is on the Ryobi vs the other brands, that DeWalt looked almost twice as big, but it didn't win twice as fast hahaha

@mrDmastr19
@mrDmastr19 7 лет назад
I agree with a lot of people here. Past 5 years + since Ryobi got big in their green line one + tools. Those really have stepped up in quality. They might not be right at some of the levels of the really expensive brands but, like others say, for 90% of the work at 50% of the cost. How can you beat it. I don't see that as an embarrassing tool. Embarrassing would be spending twice as much to say you screwed something in .25 seconds faster and spend 150 more to do it. Most people out there can easily use the ryobi tools, very few people actually need the extremely high end brands anymore now that ryobi has stepped up their game.

the 20v dewalt is actually 18v. dewalts labeling is misleading on purpose. Also, the 5 amp battery on the dewalt is able to put out more energy than the ryobi. It would be fair to use 3 amp batteries on both. As for using a corded drill. one would need to know the tools specs.

Ryobi is an economical product for someone going to be using it around the house, although it has not been in business as long - it does well as can be expected. But to me Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, & even some Metobo products are @ the top of the game going in the Order Listed from 1st place on down Some out perform others but, Dewalt is the standard - just being honest. If you get off into comparisons Ferrari is the top brand in the world next Lamborghini, then McClaren - just like these tools - there has to be a standard for all tools to be compared too And as for me I choose DeWalt
@andrewrae1506
@andrewrae1506 8 лет назад
The clear overall winner here was the Dewalt. Sure, the IR may have been a little faster (in this demo) than all the others, but how many tools does IR have on that battery platform? I'm guessing less than a dozen. In terms of that Dewalt VS the Ryobi, it was not close. The shootout that you want is the Dewalt 20 high torque impact VS the Milwaukee M18 high torque impact.

hej.

Ryobi really doesn't make a full sized high powered impact. That's just a compact impact. Dewalt makes a compact as well. Rather see dewalts compact up against the ryobi. Kinda hard to compare a $100 impact to a $300 one. But it's still interesting to see. Thanks for the video

I don't understand why these are still a thing. It proves what we already knew. The IR is a quality tool that will do the job and last forever. Dewalt spends more time and money on R+D on making their impact guns faster because that's what their customer asks for. Ryobi makes a quality tool. I have some around here, but they don't last as long under heavy use. Ryobi isn't for the commercial or industrial customer. Since Ryobi and Milwaukee are manufacutered by the same people (TTI), hopefully the improvements we see from Ryobi work their way to Milkwaukee. Its a good way to get real world customers to try a tool, Ryobi makes it affordable for the home gamer to play with the big boys and that's awesome, but I'll stick with Milwaukee for my cordless needs for now.

We use ryobi in our rescue rigs because they only need to work once in a rescue and if they get wrecked we arent out alot of money. However for our daily maintenance needs on wheel loaders and the rescue rigs themselves we rely on milwaukee or dewalt. Ryobi is fine for home owners and such but they just cant be relied upon when shit goes south on our equipment. We need to know its going to work everytime if something happens. We dont have the luxury of waiting to go buy a new tool if one fails. If a runway closes because our equipment is down because tools dont work to fix it looks real bad not to mention the cost to the owners of aircraft when they have to divert.
