I wonder why most boat makers do not make a few efforts to improve reliability, safety and ease of maintenance. There should be two sea chests in either hull, and all sea water fed from there to wherever it is required. If there is leaks in any of the various sea water inputs, you should be able to shut of the valve for that from near the sea chest. But all catamaran manufacturers go for 100 through holes spread throughout the boat. The only exception to this is a mono hull by Amel.

do you know if Lagoon can outfit the 630 with the Moonwave electric motors?

The442nd Thank you for watching my videos and for your very interesting question. While Lagoon does have an extensive list of options, electric motors are not one of them at this time. As battery, solar and motor technology improves it is nearer being a viable option although for the time being, trust old reliable!

Caroline Laviolette I think I'm also going to old out for the electric motors powered by solar and wind turbines. The Tesla off the grid whole home lithium battery just came out last month...

+The442nd why would you outfit the 630 with the electric motors in my opinion that would be stupid go for the 620 instead because the whole point of the system is to recuperate the batteries when sailing so it becomes truly green

+The442nd i am calm just saying that the system is made for sailing cats and makes more sense to go for the 620 which is the sailing version of that yacht nothing more nothing less .

Hello Ian, This cat was designed to not only cross the Atlantic on her own bottom, as did the one featured in this video series but also has extra optional fuel tanks to cross the Pacific. Independence and Self-sufficiency!
