Building this network is the most important thing we have ever done as a country. I hope we can do as much as possible by ourselves so we can save Forex and more lines. We need to connect every single major town by rail within the next 20 years. Plus urban metro lines in every major city.

You’re truly a blessing to our knowledges. Note this down, you’re the best content creator on economic development and advancement in Nigeria. I’m always looking forward to your contents. I implore you to do a very critical analysis on “fuel subsidy in Nigeria” as many people doesn’t know what actually it means. I hope you’ll give it a consideration and I’m looking forward to it already. Viva 9ja

I totally agree that we should start developing our own local technology. We churn out Engineers from our universities. And as you said, there are technicians who have worked alongside the Chinese on these rail projects. Why not use them to develop our local infrastructure instead of running to foreign contractors for things we can do ourselves? Imagine the amount of money we will be saving if we do this?

In 12 years Nigeria has spent 40 billion dollars on fuel subsidy,that alone is enough to build all the rail lines in nigerian.East west line,12 billion,lbadan to kano,5.3 billion,kano to maradi and Eastern corridor to north 12 billion...With change left to pay asuu, fund universities and build world class healthcare.lnstead they waste it on fuel subsidy for the rich and start borrowing for critical, national infrastructures.Upside down mentality! Sometimes you just wonder what types of people are actually leading nigeria as a country.
@cristiano4289
@cristiano4289 2 года назад
So you want them to remove subsidy? Not possible. That's the only benefit Nigerians get from the oil we have. The big men are the one benefiting from oil. Let's average Nigerian benefit by buying cheap fuel
@suntanglory
@suntanglory 2 года назад
@@cristiano4289 That's the mistake you keep making, the average Nigerian does not benefit from subsidy. The person with fleet of cars benefit from the subsidy more than someone with just one car for example. Nigeria spend money subsiding fuel for imported cars, money leaving the country just to buy cars abroad for a subsidised petrol at home? Can't you see you are losing money at both end? The true cost of subsidy to Nigeria in 12 years is cmore than 100 billion not even the 40 billion dollars.
@cristiano4289
@cristiano4289 2 года назад
@@suntanglory forget about the North high population of Nigerian use fuel, a country where there's not electricity. If the price of fuel rise by #1 transport fare go increase by #20. Average Nigeria can't even benefit from that train cause they can't afford it. Lagos to Ibadan #2600 for train why you can take public transport for 1k to 1.5k
@suntanglory
@suntanglory 2 года назад
@@cristiano4289 Car consumes more fuel on bad roads, in potholes than on good roads. If Nigeria spend half of that money they waste on subsidy on road infrastructures Nigeria will have some of the best road and that will reduce cost of travel, the cost of living etc.. Its not just about how much you pay at the station, its about how far you can travel with 100 naira fuel for example. Quality roads brings down the cost of travelling, in the end people will be paying far less for going further distances. With the subsidy spent on roads food stuff can be transported across the country easily, which will reduce the cost of food stuff as well. With the subsidy spent on good road network people can engage in commercial activities,farming, hotels, restaurants, tourism and desire to go to places, generating revenue, therefore able to actually afford petrol. That is what most Nigerians don't see. It too much money too just burn on petrol when you can transform the country's infrastructure with it, which will in turn transform the lives of every citizen.

Another reason y the ajaokuta steel company needs to work. Nigeria is basically funneling money to the Chinese steel sector. This project would have required half of it's present cost to build. The airlines suffer cost of the high cost of fuel. If Nigeria does not fix her refinery and provide adequate fuel to power her economy even the train will suffer and they should privatize NRC ASAp

Can the video maker let us know why a Nigerian railway line is planning to run all the way to Maradi in Niger Republic a totally separate country from Nigeria ? Are there no other areas in Nigeria that the extra station planned for Maradi could go? Why not also provide rail links to any other countries in the southern areas of Nigeria if this is supposed to be about anything positive?

The next government must complete all of the undergoing projects of the current government and then open up the east and the entire Niger delta by connecting it to Lagos by rain and on the sea routes. After all it’s our oil money and most of the projects are usually between Yoruba and Hausa land only with only the Niger bridge for the rest of the regions. Projects in a federation should be balanced. The youths and education has been neglected nation wide and this need to change too. Good luck to the next president because he will arrive buried in a mountain of national debts and an avalanche of problems. We must give him a shovel to dig himself out so the problems don’t destroy him before he can serve us properly.

We Nigerians always like to walk before we can crawl thus the low quality works on many of our Nigerian engineered construction projects.We should give time to aquire more experience from the foreign partners before venturing taking on these projects ourselves half baked.This is 2022 we should be competing with countries like Dubai and other advance societies by engaging competent contractors,that will give us the latest ultramodern projects, we should then learn the ropes from them 100% before we can start boasting of doing it ourselves to mordern international standards instead of trying reinventing a wheel crudely.
