Lai Kuan-lin's letter to fans/ Jeremy Xu/ Wu Jinyan & Wang Xinyue/ Jade's Fateful Love 

Edward Lai is a young man with his whole life ahead of him. If he's unhappy being an actor he should be able to change his show business focus without being harassed by on line fans!

Edward shows symptoms of depression.... It is always better to leave things that make you sad and do what you like as long as it is not illegal. After all, life matters the most!

To the so-called fans who criticize actors and make absurd demands: Just go away. You don't know the actor and he doesn't know you. He owes you nothing. These young people are under enough pressure in their lives without having to endure cyber bullying. It's so hypocritical to question whether the actor cares about you when you obviously don't care anything about him.

I feel so good that apart from sizzling onscreen chemistry, Wang Xingyu and Wu Jinyan look so cute and comfortable with each other offscreen... one of the best chinese drama couples for me.

A short comment regarding Jeremy Xu. Jeremy X was one of the first actors to catch my eye when I started watching CDrama; his acting chops are undeniable. To my surprise, baring a couple of instances, JX played the same stereotype character, drama in & out, albeit always to perfection. It now seems this career "choice" was a total imposition on JX right down to the sort of promotional images and/or comments posted on the social media channels (whereas it had been reasonable to assume that all had been done by or authorised by JX). At this point in time, it is the studios/agencies which need JX not the other way round! It is commendable that JX is bothering to expose the ugly underbelly of the industry before making tracks to new, better pastures. Fellow colleagues will surely reap the benefits of this airing of "dirty linen".

Thank you Marcus and very best wishes for Jeremy Xu. He is a favorite Chinese actor and very talented. May he have future projects where he is happy and thriving as an actor and artist.

Edward sounds like he made a good decision... Especially if he's considering entering a serious relationship, he's likely to be more comfortable behind the camera. He's also wise to change his career focus when he realized that he's no longer happy with it. What enthused many of us in our midteens isn't necessarily the best career choice for a person in their mid-twenties. I hope disgruntled fans don't make a nuisance of themselves.

Going by what turns up on Asian social media platforms, the concept of being a "fan" is totally misunderstood! Actors & singers are there to "entertain" and not act as antidotes to life's disappointments or being a conduit to a fantasy world which is deemed way better than the reality of things! I applaud Edward L for safeguarding his own sanity & wellbeing (having a life companion, forming a family unit, etc) as opposed to catering to fans who live vociferous through their appointed "object of desire". Youth & physical beauty are fleeting; everyone ages, change is inevitable. Edward L has his priorities in the right order & owes nothing to his "fans" beyond what he has already given to his audience. This opinion is not only mine but is what goes as normal behaviour & thought outside Asia. Surely Asian "fans" are conscious of the fact that their attitudes & behaviours do them no favour in eyes of the rest of the film watching world. It is difficult to respect those that stubbornly disrespect others treating them as "acquired objects" rather than as fellow human beings also on their life journey.

Kuanlin is my no 1 idol since wanna one , my fav actor and my no. 1 in everything. When I heard the news ,I can't help but cry , it's the first time I wholeheartedly cry for someone who I doesn't even know in person , i donno but I eventually got sick that's how much I like him .He is an only star for me .I spent whole of my teenage years having a crush on him .Everytime I read his letter , I gets so upset thinking that how hurt he must have at the point of doing this , as a fan it is very hard to see him this way like why I or someone couldn't help him out I may sound so dramatic but it really hurts ,I can't understand,I can't bear to not be able to see him .All I ever wish as a fan is to meet him oneday ,a fan meeting or maybe airport ,just one glance will be enough to fulfill my wish .I can't see him anymore why .However ,after reading this letter , i totally understand his decision, the line about how he can't love himself and his longing for freedom is a sign of depression , he stop before it gets worse and that's really brave , it's a brave decision he is young and has a bright future but there's nothing more important than to love oneself and love doing his jobs ,if he didn't want it ,that's okay, that's totally fine . Kuanlin oppa I hope you find happiness ,comfort ,love ,peace and freedom that you always wanted .Take care of yourself, your health and be happy ,we understand your decision , i wish that you are very very very happy and have freedom behind the scene , do whatever you want , without any pressure. Jeremy Xu is one of these 'feel good when you watch him' actors who has a sunny personality, which comes across on screen, he does satirical comedy really well. But with handsome leading man looks which is actually a hard to find combination.

I will totally miss him onscreen, he is one of my favorite actors, but it doesn't matter as long as he is happy. I'm on ep 21 of The Double. Jeremy Xu's studio has done dirty to him. I'm glad he will finish the contract with them and bow out from the industry. We all can see what they have done to his career...it is really infuriating. We wish him well, so he can focus in other ventures.

I first saw him on Love the Way You Are with Angelababy and really liked his performance on this and other dramas. He has this melancholic sweet way of expressing his emotions while acting and being so young he seemed so grown up for his age, that’s my very humble opinion 😊. Some fans are so toxic, they need to be disinfected. Grow up & get a freaking life. Edward Lai needs to do what is good for him.. PERIOD. Fans do not own him.. they don't live his life for him. That's just self-centered thinking. Besides, his Weibo went dark, but that doesn't mean it'll stay dark. Sometimes, people just need an extended hiatus.

Am sure a lot of actors and actresses are not happy acting and the pressure that comes from fans pushes them into doing things that they don't like so pleas( like people of whom they are not of what you want them to be )

I don't really know Edward Lai. But real fans should understand him and not demand him. If he wasn't happy as singer or actor, then let him find his happiness as "mortal" ppl like us. As we know to be an actor you can't have relationship openly..usually the first 5 years. Your life is in chain..is he can't handle it, then his fans should let him go... Just like when Jeremy Xu decided to resign as an actor..i am sad and wish to him one day he will come back..but i hope he would find his happiness...he needs kinda a break...

Do you have any firm update on Reborn for Love drama on the number of episodes? This actor guy Zhang Linghe appears in both Reborn for Love and The Princess Royal, but the Reborn for Love was rumorred to have slated 40 episodes cut down to 36! Wonder why? Is it because Reborn for Love has a 'minority' cast in it so the CCP fixer/yes-man is treating it differerently? If that the tendency, the notion that Winnie-the-Pooh and his CCP fixer mistreat minority group wee-grr (Uyghurs) in Xinjiang is not far from the truth. It really looks like they try to substantiate this notion. It also feels like they're acting like a bunch of todlers throwing tantrum towards a certain people/actors to response to some gepolitical tension although the minority actor doesn't do anything. Looks like this time they're not shy in taking adversary action toward those they dislike, those who are barely related to politicial group they opposed, it's really rediculous and ugly. Blossoms in Adversity, The Double, The Princess Royal are all getting their slated 40 episodes fullfiled except Reborn For Love. Dang it!
