Nice fish and video. I’m fishing April 4th through 7 at Chick. Staying in Harrison Bay Area. I’m fun fishing. No tournament. Any help would be appreciated.
Yea man. So Harrison bay is a big mud hole lol with a good channel running threw it. Once you launch and go under the bridge. Fish some coves and lay downs. Them big ones will be right up under the trees. About all the cover they have in Harrison bay. Keep moving and fishing until you find them. Pay attention to where boats are going they will lead you to good areas. Mid day I would look for some chunk rock or bluffs. Also if you wake up early you can usually find the birds chasing the bait and you should be right behind them. Also be carful in Harrison bay. If you aren’t in the channel your right in 3-10 foot of water and possibly will beach your boat or smack your skeg. They have markers for you tho.
Water Temp? Looks like you were using drop shot. I know your not going to give exact location. Were you up river near Watts Bart, Mid Lake around Dayton, and south Near Power Station. I have a club tournament weekend of April 1st. Never been on this lake. Putting in at Dayton. Trying to get an idea and where to run to make the most of my pre-fishing on March 31st. Very limited time to pattern/locate good fish. The more water I can eliminate to better focus my efforts the better.
Hey buddy I would be glad to help out. So when we first got out there water temp was 60 degrees. But when we got into current/deeper water around bluffs it was 56 which is where we started laying on them. This was up towards watts bar. Obviously I’m gonna say run the rocky ledges hahah. If you find any ledges or bluffs I would fish them pretty hard. Outside and inside the current seam. You will notice a lot of guys will be up shallow in cuts. If they aren’t on the bluff walls on chick try to find you some chunk rock points. And hit them. One standard I know is watts bar dam area is where you wanna go for your smallmouth/strong current fishing. Mid lake by the power plants is a mixed bag depending on what your fishing. And Harrison bay is just a mud hole lol with lots of lay downs. I hope I helped out I just fish for fun I don’t know how much running you will do but I hope you put a hurting on them. Also color of bait didn’t seem to matter it was more of the presentation. We fished one was for a hour with no fish and turned the boat around and caught 10 fish going the opposite way we had just fished
