We visit the Lake County Model Railroad Club in Wauconda, IL and join them for an open house. Big thanks to the club for opening themselves to the public and letting me in with my tripod.
Fantastic club. Brings back some great memories, in 1970 going into jr.high they had a lot of different clubs, my friends and I would read all the model railroading magazines. We asked if we could start a club, and they not only said yes but they gave us an entire unused classroom. The janitors cleared out all the desks and stored equipment and furnished us with all the supplies. I went back several years later and it was still growing. Good times indeed.
As usual, no action on the Red Island line. When I was a member, I would spend hours running and switching the branch line. Great club! LCMRRC has come a long way and is still going strong.
The landscape is fabulous. I appreciate the attention to detail on the layout. I wanted to put some 💵 in their money jar 17:06. 😂 Your videography is terrific...I enjoyed the the show. 😊
A fine layout. But I notice the lack of landscaping in regards to vegetation. I would expect trees and bushes all over the area. But no. Why is that? You will forgive me because after visiting Howard Zanes incredible layout I'm spoiled by his layout and any layout that is huge as his should be finished in the same manner.
This layout was built in stages, and a lot of it was built in the 70s and 80s, and the scenery reflects it. Could it use a freshening in some spots for sure.
