Your flats boat would be perfect out there. Just be cautious in the Farm 13 canal. The left side has a lot of stumps if you are traveling towards Farm 13. The right side is good all the way down 👍

Rob, Steady retrieve and sometimes would let the lure fall and reel it in and pause ever few feet. They were biting good that evening. So I think any retrieve would have worked. Thanks for the post.

Paul, the water level is good. The North canal is good to go. I did not try the South canal.

My favorite areas when I used to fish there (15+ years ago so take this as it it may) were the flats just south of the north east west canal 2 plots before the M canal entrance. Water used to be 3-4 feet in there and a lipless or spinnerbait would crush them in there, especially in the fall. Gets loaded with grass so it takes some effort to fish in there. Won several local tourneys there doing that. Next would be the pits just south of the berm and fishing lipless along the grass edges along the berms where it drops off. Usually catch a 4-5lber+ doing that. Back then these flats would have huge fields of spatterdock. I see on Google maps it appears those are gone now. Garcia was one of the few lakes that had Eel grass and they were always in it or near it. I miss being able to fish over there. Hope that helps you. Keith, thank you, alot has changed, since 2006. Went there yesterday only caught 4. They sprayed the grass, eel grass gone except a few spots, hydrilla gone wasn't that thick. Just Don't understand spraying when it's not needed. Still a beautiful lake. Thank you, David
