Spend some time out there last winter one of the best BLM places I've been to. Close to town in Wally world is just down the road. Lake Havasu City has a lot to offer but I wouldn't want to go there in the summer I would probably burst into flames

Headed to Quartzsite Jan 17th - 19th. Thanks for all the tips on Quartzsite. I was telling Facebook followers look out for RVerTV. Your the man Russ thanks.

Lone tree is handy if you really need to be close to town, otherwise, it is no fun. Everyone running their gens. all night, dusty, road noise and the treacherous entry onto 95 towing a 5th wheel.
@geebonzo

I spent two nights at Craggy Wash. The road twists around hills so by the time you get to the camping, the airplanes aren't much of a factor. Interesting place, but very crowded in Winter. Cell and TV reception were good. Guy ran his generator all night. Host didn't interfere.

George Sears spend some time at craggy wash last winter it was pretty nice found spot a good distance off the road no generator noise were I was and your right cell phone reception is pretty good you can literally see the tower on your by Mountain when you have line of sight like that you're pretty much going to have all your bars

Never Camped at Havasu Heights or Lone Tree before, was interesting to see it. Love Lake Havasu for all their year long events, great stores, the Beautiful Lake, BLM camping and Hiking. Craggy Wash is My favorite for Camping and Exploring! It goes for Miles and you should have shown how gorgeous the Craggy Wash is. I hike all over it. The one behind Walmart is now State Trust Land which requires a permit to stay. ( Found that out at Jamie's Van Build when the police came in.)👍😀💗🏝🏜🚤🌅

Great info.. lone tree still busy. But no host this year. Hard to get host volunteers now. Only one host left at Craggy Wash. Not so busy yet this year, but starting to fill up. Yes, still lots of dogs and generators. We just did a desert trash cleanup this weekend at Craggy. If the trash dumping problem doesn't get better, I suspect the BLM will close these areas to us

We recently stayed at a truck stop in Tehachapi. We like free, but there were two issues: 1-trucks run their engines during the night, creating noise. We ran our fan, and it partially drowned out the sound so it was tolerable. 2- lots of exhaust coming from the trucks. We could smell the exhaust inside our travel trailer throughout the night. Maybe next time we might be able to park more strategically within the truck stop

115 in the shade, summertime & still hot in September ( over 90)- hot & dusty, nothing but sand, barren land with no trees - plus look out for coyotes if you have a little dog, they’ll eat it for breakfast!! And, don’t forget the scorpions, tarantulas & snakes!! I lived in an apt in lake Havasu years ago for a few months, I couldn’t wait to leave, the heat is unbearable, then temperatures are freezing at night -

Craggy Wash is actually down that road past the airport about a half mile I would say. It goes back a few miles. Pretty nice. I think there is State Trust land behind Walmart. You need a permit from the State of Arizona. I think the permit is $15 for the year. 14 day stay, just like BLM. Further South of Havasu on the East side of the highway 95 the is an ATV riding area where you can camp. My guess would be about 7 to 10 miles South of town.

Hi Russ Just want to say I love your videos. And a word about Lone Tree. I'm a woman camping alone and I first stopped at the Havasu Heights BLM area to camp because I was tired and needed to stop. I was there for a couple of days without any problems. But my travel plans got completely messed up the day I was leaving for Sequoia Nat'l Park because of road closures due to a coming storm and I couldn't go "home" cause it was a blizzard in Flagstaff. So I went to Lone Tree. This was in May. There was no camp host. Just about four campers spread out and I never saw who was in them, They never came out. I had an emergency and had to go to the emergency room in town and couldn't find anyone to help. Had to unhook and drive myself. a few stitches in a finger. Then I found myself in a spot I hope to never be in again. I couldn't start my truck, the battery was dead. And my cell was dead. Found another SIMS card that had time left on it so,i called and got a truck to come out from Havasu to start it. The driver told me this place was no place for me,to,be. He said sketchy folks tend to hang out thete. Now to be fair, maybe its only when there is no camp host. I would not go back,thete in off season again.

@@gsp49 No. If you go into the truckers' area inside the buildings there is usually a lounge just for long haul. you get some interesting infor. there, such as what the demand for certain loads are, such as if you're doing a gas stock play in Alberta you find out that all decks available are hauling rigs north into Canada. good stuff.

@gsp49 4 года назад
@@dwightstjohn6927 ,oh, thanks for reply, although I have no idea what kind of buildings you are referring to, no such thing as a long haul permit in U.S., and truckers are not allowed to run long hours anymore. However regular licensed drivers can drive as many hours as they wish, I drove from North Florida to upper Wisconsin and back recently hauling motorcycles to Daytona for bike week, non stop, no sleep. Only time off road was fueling, restroom, and fast food drive-thru .

@dwightstjohn6927 4 года назад
@@gsp49 No log book??!! Weight scales will ask to see your time/travel i.e. log book. to answer your question, all Huskies long haul stations in Canada have a drivers' lounge. Haven't been in the Flying J though, which is more common in the USA and based out of Missouri. In the USA I believe a Class One is called a Class "A" license: i.e. Kenworth/Petebuilt tractor/trailer/B-train. Big responsibility and they pull twice the weight of two decades ago.
